I was really suprised that some people are so greedy at the Farmers Market. Good thing is most are compassionate and there for the cause but a couple surely only have money on their minds...Had to get a gram of this $350 an ounce weed but it wasn't any better than most of the Kush...But it is Organic...LOL So is most of the stuff there...Why do people put such a high cost on doing something clean? It really doesn't cost any more to grow organic, most everything carried at grow stores is Organic anymore. Then I bet if I asked they wouldn't have a certificate so it really isn't Certified Organic....
Then the other thing that bothered me deeply was a woman brought her baby in there with all the smoke....Sad that some just don't think, had the press been there I doubt we would have ever had another Farmers Market. They need to make it 18 and over and stick to it. We have come a long ways but it can all come to a screetching halt over stupidity.

Yes that little bit of lack of concern for others could waste us all.

You know....that the first one to do something always 1. dies, 2. is reviled, 3. talked about like they are crazy.
I believe it is the nature of change. What is happening now .. is a bar has been set.

To me that suggests it is time to start another market, that works the way it should be. The trail is blazed, Lewis and Clark.
Let's walk!

this kinda upsets me a lil, cause i realy wanted to attend this from day one, but never have the day. 350 a Z is stupid, just plain stupid. i dont care what is used, it doesnt cost that much to reproduce it. i would like to had made it up thier cause i have a few extra Z's i wouldnt of mind parting with and i actualy want to HELP others. i would have only asked for 200 a Z donation for some verrrry frosty jack frost and very purpley Purple. so many people like this just ruin it for everyone. makes me sad.

Actually it is the few, most are really there to help it seems. There are 2 farmers markets in Tacoma, the one on Center Street and then one at Left Coast on South Tacoma Way. I had my caretaker with me and we were allowed in at Center Street but not at South Tacoma way. Will have to try theirs out another time and will let everyone know what I think. I really like the Center Street Market and plan on going back, some really cool people and hopefully they will address whether kids are let in the smokey room or not. As far as prices go....You can tell who has good smoke and fair prices by the amount of people always at their booths...I ended up with 4 quarters and only spent $220 + $15 for one gram. Really love the Blackberry I got, the whole bud is purple inside and out, believe I got it from Kens....They had a lot of variety and were willing to make deals...

I would be careful at these markets. I would expect them to get hit by the feds before the end of summer.

With the new requirement of 15 days between patients, the private grow your own and market the excess is really in a difficult spot. I don't see these farmers markets surviving past 7/22/11. Hopefully somebody will come up with some sort of patient caregiver matching service.

So kind of curious how trading straight across would work? Could there be a message board like this and as long as people trading say ounce for ounce just to have variety would that break any law? As long as both people are patients and no money is traded?

Patients will have to post on a message board, "need a designated provider". Grow our patients will pick n choose another patient every 16 days or more. Most trades will be qp or more, a grower will only be able to do a total of 22 or so trades per year with different consecutive patients.
Just my guess...I am sure the market place will adjust to fit the new rules.

Why spread unnecessary fear based on assumptions and parnoia? Even IF the Feds raided the markets, the law states that you are allowed to have up to 24 ounces of dried material on your person with a valid certificate.

They are NOT even arresting owners of co-ops when they raid them and steal all the medicine. They are not arresting anyone unless you beat on your woman, committ another crime or are just too stupid to be polite and respectful to the law if they come.

I have vended at almost all of the markets here in Washington and had my picture on the front page of the Seattle Times on February 27, 2011, the day after the very first farmers market with two large buds in my hands...(see picture below)

I absolutely remain within my legal numbers, follow the rules, respect the law and have no problems.

If you think that you might be at some risk merely attending a LEGAL CFM carrying a legal certificate, than it is best that you keep your paranoid self at home. For the rest of everyone, there is no risk to you the consumer as long as you FOLLOW THE RULES.

Happy Growing!!

Its nice to live in fantasy land but dispensary owners are still being arrested and the rates will rise even more as our legislatures left us hanging out to dry again.
The feds could care less what our state laws are, they are only concerned with federal law. They are still hitting dispensaries in every state that has MMJ laws and that will continue till our congressmen address the issue.
Nothing wrong with running a dispensary, but it doesn't pay to live with your head in the sand about the risks that are involved.

Fantasy land....lol...I'm in Washington, not California.

And how exactly does that tie into the CFM's? So far, most of the dispensaries raided had their medicine and equipment stolen by the feds but unless there were outstanding warrants, were not arrested. I'm not saying that makes it OK because it doesn't. You are comparing Apples to Oranges when you switch from some dispensaries getting busted to the CFM getting busted. It could happen but has not happened yet. In my "fantasy land" we deal in fact, not potentials......I mean the market could get hit by a meteor which is just as goods a reason to stay away.:)

Agreed. Although they seem to respond mainly when requested as was the case in Eastern Washington and Montana last month. In these cases, local officials called the feds and asked them to intervene because in Montana, the voters passed a law and the right didn't like it so they demanded the feds come huff and puff. They raided ten shops, stole the gear and arrested only one person due to an outstanding warrant.

I'm not trying to suggest that I can outguess their intention, I'm just recounting was has occurred so far.

I am less familiar with other states although I have heard recently that the Feds have been active in both Cali and Colorado.

That's true, but it's even more important to know the facts and to do all in ones power to remain within their legal limits. Might not stop the feds, but you have a much better chance before a jury of your peers.

Safe growing!!
