Since SB 5073 seems destined for failure ( good or bad ), why don't we collectively discuss and debate what points in a new law we can agree on and which points are unworkable? We could draft a new initiative with the contents that will work for everyone and whether or not this bill is enacted a new initiative will override it. If it makes sense, the people of WA St will sign and support it. Looks like we will have the time to achieve this before the 2012 session. Any thoughts??

It's a plant...It should be decriminalized and tax the stores that sell it. If it gets where you need an attourney to understand it, then it is no good. Keep it simple.

Doug Hiatts is till the best because it removes the word cannabis from every law in the state. It allows us a clean slate. The problem will be as it always is, to try and keep greed from destroying the movement. For 2 years the greed will be massive. It would have been nice if the state had actually had patients interest at heart when they wrote this bill but it was all about generating revenue. It would have drove prices higher. The good thing about the intiative, while it will promote greed it would also mean start of massive production which would drive the prices down. Maybe after 2 years the prices would be low that the greedy would get out of the business.
