So I've got a Sun Systems Sun Blaze 24 with 4 bulbs for a grow light, an EarthBox system, an air stone at the bottom of the EarthBox, and the reservoir is filled with properly mixed nutrients and water and gets filled every three days with a fresh gallon and a teaspoon of nutes.

I set the box up earlier last week to give it time to get ready; I knew it needed to be put together, but the way it wicks water up in to the soil? I knew it would take a few days and a few gallons for it to wick enough moisture up to be ready for planting. pH is a little alkaline, according to my meter, a 6.9. I've been told to keep it between 6.5 and 7.0, so I think I can wait on using pH Up and pH Down as long as I keep the nutes fresh and everything properly aerated.

So I've got a little germination tank, and I'm germinating the following seeds. Buddha Seeds Deimos, Quasar, and Red Dwarf, as well as two lowlife AK47 x Diesel crosses. All of them are autoflowers, and the Buddha Seeds are feminized, and I was told they do well in high density grows. I was also told for my first grow to grow autoflowers, as they are kind of idiot proof and usually yield an ounce or two.

In Nevada, it's legal for MM patients like myself to grow up to seven plants for personal use to treat medical ailments. I need enough pot to get me from post-drying to the next drying time. Five ounces seems like enough [I usually take 28 pills a day if I'm not using marijuana. Same effect.]

Today, I began germination of my seeds; I'm guaranteed three females. Hopefully, the two Lowlife's will be females as well. I'm not holding my breath, though.

Side note: A seed my friend tossed in as a joke sprouted today. Not sure if I want to keep it for shiggles and put it in a 5gal when it gets old enough, or kill it. No sense in killing it though. I never thought that little seed would ever sprout, so imagine my surprise when I see a tiny little stem and four tiny little leaves. I think I'll keep it. Name it "Miracle".

See you tomorrow.

After much debate as to what to do with the seedling that sprouted from a random seed, I've decided to guerrilla grow it near a friends house and see what happens. It's the start of the growing season; the world finally warmed up. Let's hope for some epic buds.

So apparently my friend tossed in more than one seed without telling me. I now have three plants in the EarthBox I didn't plant, and in the germination tank my Quasar must know how impatient I am in general because she's like three days old, and she's already sprouted. Thinking about going to the hydro store and picking up a second EarthBox and some more fox farm mix. Pics will come soon. One of my miracle plants, that I've named Shi, is almost three and a half inches tall. A grower I know said it took him a few weeks to get a plant that tall. I feel accomplished.

I've been spending a few hours a day with my plants, talking to them, measuring the pH of the soil and the nutrient mixture, and I've got to say, so far, I think I'm doing okay. I'm incredibly proud of myself for growing my own medicine because of how much I have to pay a freelancer per month to keep me from being in pain and suffering. I'm finally taking my own health care in to my own hands. Even if I only get an ounce or less per autoflower, that's still something I did for myself.

I'd like to take a moment and thank the members of this fine community for taking the time to answer my questions and helping me make sure I was ready for my first grow. Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart.

Bets of luck to you. I've just started growing indoors myself and I'm also growing autos (Short Stuff #1 and Flash Cobra). Right now, mine are just under 3 weeks old.

I look forward to following your grow. :)

Sorry for not updating in a few days. I was hospitalized. Couldn't get to the internet, or to my plants. My caregiver made sure things stayed watered while I was gone.

We've got three sprouts right now; I'm starting to get concerned about the AK-47 not coming up. Two days until the best day of the year.

The miracle plants are starting to make nodes. More leaves are coming out. I'm happy with that. Only another week or two until I move them outside. I've found a home for them to go to with another caregiver who grows regular plants. I've found my little niche with autoflowers.

Five Smurfberry and five La Diva seeds are on their way. Feminized for the win. Hopefully, all my plants will sprout by this time next week. I'll take pictures once they're grown a little bit more.

I'm definitely thinking 20/4 is a good time table for lights with Autoflowers. I think the four hours of darkness helps the plant grow; I could be wrong, and maybe it's just me, but it seems like they only get noticeably bigger after they've had their four hours of beauty sleep.

Waking up in the morning is the highlight of my day because I get to see what's come up. For the last few days, my seeds have been popping sprouts. I'm up to seven sprouts. Two are feminized, so I'm hoping for 4-5 plants total. I'll know in a week and some-odd days how many girls I have, and how much compost I have.

My Smurfberries and La Diva arrived in the post yesterday. So did my new hemp messenger bag.

So far, the hardest part of the job is keeping the reservoir on the EarthBox full. Much love to High Times for the tip on EarthBoxes and Fox Farm soil.

Need to get a 420-scope later today. Solid investment, so I've been told.

My feminized Deimos from Buddha Seeds is concerning me. I'm not putting nutes in the osmosis water I use to feed my girls, so the nute solution in the reservoir should be thinning out, right?

Here's another shot of what she looks like. Color me worried. The only booster I put in was this morning, and when I put it in, it was already that color. I only added a couple tablespoons of molasses to the two gallons I put in. Anyone know what's going on?

I checked the pH, and it's hovering at 6.8. Everything I'm using is organic. I'm in fox farm nutes. I'm -really- worried. These girls are my daughters. This one's name is Melissa.

This one is called Cassie. She just drooped over. Nothing to worry about, she'll perk back up. I just thought you should know Cassie is a fucking brat.

Oh, by the way? Yes. I am crazy.

Grow log is now over; my piece of shit fucking cat broke in to the goddamn grow room and ate all my plants. She opened the goddamn door and let herself in.

In other news, does anyone want a gently used cat? Free to bad home.
