Two years ago, NH had a democratic legislature for the first time in generations. They passed MMJ as did the senate, only to be vetoed by the governor (a democrat).
This year, the house went 3-1 republican, and still, MMJ passed 221-96. The senate's going to be a tough fight, and there's no telling whether the lame duck governor is going to continue echoing the script of reefer madness despite a republican majority calling him to use common sense.
Here's local activist video from the public hearing, including an interview with a chief of police who opposed the bill.
