It goes some of the time, and other times the ballast just ticks and the bulb doesnt ignite, You have to turn it on and off a few times for it too kick. Im pretty sure the house where its at, the power just isnt enough, its old crappy wiring etc, I measured the Amps coming out of the power point, and only getting between 2-3A at the most, found another power point inside getting 3-4A and it kicked in straight away

Is there any sort of system (Im thinking like a farad cap in a car?) that you can hold power in reserve for it to kick every time?

Going out to check the light is coming on every night isnt practical, as its half n hour from my house!

Thanks for any advice :)

Hello elitaone,

The ballast already has a fairly large capacitor in it already if it's a c & c (coil and core) ballast.
Seems that you already know the problem, old shitty wiring. Time to get an electrican to check out and fix the real problem.

If a breaker trips at 2-3amps or even 3-4 amps. It's a day late getting it looked at. Very DANGEROUS Will Robinson!
