I am having big problems germinating?

my seeds just won't germinated correctly.

The taproot shoots out and stretches but it doesn't do anything after that. It doesn't attach itself onto my growdan at all. It just sits there and like is all shrively and mushy.

I use distilled water with the hydroponic line of ferts. I have florecents on it for germination and a HID MH/HPS setup waiting after it shoots up out of the grodan.

could this be a problem with overwatering? I have heard about the papertowel thing as well as the soaking in water thing too, but I am scared of taking it out becuase it may ruin tiny root hairs that are growing off the taproot, no? how wet should my grodan be?

Um..are you trying to grow from seeds and use what for your grow medium?

Seeds should be sprouted between two paper towels and kept warn and dark until the tap roots sprout. Then you place the tap roots in peat moss, place a dome over the little peat moss pellet and use fluorescents until the second set of true leafs are fully grown. At that time you can move the seedlings into your grow medium and start feeding with proper nutrients and start using your HID light.

What grow method are you going to use?

What is the Ph range you are using?

You donā??t give seedlings nutrients.

sounds like your haveing grow problems not germing problems
let me get this straight,..you have your sprouted seeds just sitting ontop of some growdan rockwool cubes and hopeing they will attach ??.they need to be inside

also you going hydro or soil
just pop what you have in soil problem solved
and NO ferts yet

from my exp; use a 1.5" x1.5" rockwool cube, drop the seed into the hole, keep moist, under 24 hrs of flourescent light at 72 F,with a humnidity dome.shld germ in 3 to 5 days .After it is about 1" out of rockwool use 1/8 strength hyrdo fert until it is about 3" to 4" then transplant into whatever media or system u are using . Good luck
