I have 2 ounces of "powder" and I would like to know, when making cannabis oil, will powder material take less time to cook than regular shake material?

This is my 2st attempt at oil and I was also wondering how long is the recommended cooking time for oil? I wanna get it right.

Just harder to filter out the solids. I have a thread in concentrates about how to.

cooking canna oil? flat dangerous, not productive, not healthy especially if acetone or such is used for reduction and a dozen etc's.

outdoor reduction only when a breeze is present so the butane does not congregate using a 1" x 24" pyrex pipe with a coffee filter on one end and a rubber plug with a hole in it for injecting PURE butane in the other. butane will evaporate almost immediately with anything over around 55f. use 191 ethanol in a small amount to mix the very sticky stuff into a workable thick liqued. shake shold be groud in a coffee grinder; DO NOT PACK IT; just shake it down.

you will get 100% available, no danger except if you are mentally impared and decide to smoke while doing the process. (lol)

you will die if you use methanol; don't even think about it. Evergreen is a good brand of 191 but getting harder to obtain. it only takes about 1/2 oz of the Evergreen to mix up the sticky solution and it will evaporate when you leave the top off the container you store it in.

propane is a good solution to use with this method have done it many times with awsome results....

i wrote a long explanation regarding why not to use it, then while getting compound names and additives; i lost it so there went an hour of my life i will never get back.

SUMMARY: do not use it. 100% has an oder additive that can kill you in very small amounts. i also read experts saying to use isopropl to get if off the collection plate DON'T use it, it is poison. other "experts" advising the use of copper tubes saying there was no adverse reaction, sooooooooo wrong.

buy the 8oz cans of pure Butane from Amazon for a couple of cents over $1 each. If you want to have fun on an extreme sport try playing in traffic instead.

when my 8 oz can is empty after blowing the upside down can thru a 1" ID GLASS thick-wall pyrex tube 20" long the resulting outflow is pure white; no nothing left. to get to these measurements i ran tests everywhere from 36" to 18". 18 was wasting butane, 36 was leaving yellow still flowing.

grind the shake DO NOT PACK it.

mrorganics; your luck will run out one day and it will be too late to figure out why.

one of us is on the wrong track, you now say Butane which i heartly agree with, in your previous post you said Propane. stay away from propane because of the additives not the propane itself. maybe the oil has us both confused lol. BTW i think a well done batch should yield closer to 37% than 27%. the duration of the pain releif in the case of what i have made often exceeds 3 hours.

holy smokes i did say butane oops lol I was thinkn of what you said, my bad, but ya 27% is nice Im high for a long time aswell, but ya I always let it evaporate off for days before I smoke it, Im sure if I didnt I would probly get sick or something but it tastes nice too dont taste any chemicals and what not ,all I was doing by posting this is given a way I do it with cheap gas and good quality stuff, Ill admit it would never be dispensory worthy buy hey it works and I get lifted man lol and like i said no pun intended just offering my easy way of doing it maybe this time ill give your way a shot and see how it works out lol

butane is cheaper than propane when bought correctly, that is in a case of 8oz containers. 13.25 per CASE from amazon.com

I make simpson oil and I am treating cancer patients. I have done plenty of research on many methods. If simpson oil is made correctly, I believe using the 99% isopropyl is by far the best. We have been seeing the simpson oil testing coming back between 60% and 80% THC. My patients were already smoking cannabis regularly. When the cancer patients switched to using the oil, three doses the size of a grain of rice per day, they had quite the difficulties handling that dosage. It took them 6 weeks before they built up a tolerance to be able to increase the dosage as suggested by Rick Simpson.

I have read about many deaths from inhaling butane due to it being poisonous.

190 everclear can be a safe option but, the 5% water that is in it can extract the red oil from the cannabis (water solubles). So if the cannabis has been fertilized with chemical fertilizers or pesticides that are water soluble, you could end up with those chemicals in your concentrated oil.

The main thing is, whatever chemical is uses in manufacturing the oil, that the solvent is all bubbled out or evaporated before use of any kind.

I always recommend to people to make your own oil from your own buds. That way you know what you are getting.
