Howdy, y'all. I'm new to NM and am trying to figure out how to grow my medicine here in the ABQ area. I've had good success elsewhere, but I'm not sure what to do with the outdoor growing conditions here.
Can anyone recommend any strains they've had success growing outdoors here? I've heard that White Widow is good, but I'm not sure. Now that the sun's out and my garden's getting prepped, it's time to plant some of my favorite plants.
Thanks!

Well it depends on if you want a repetitive harvest or 1 single harvest. Autoflowers are good for outdoor mutilple harvests all year or you can grow sativa/hybrids, they do well here in the dry warm climate. Most seeds sites will ask you if you want indoor or outdoor strains, and most strains do well outdoors will a little TLC...peace Ollie....... check out my grow classes...

thanks for the advice, ollie. I've heard that normal gardening here is tough without a greenhouse given the sun and wind, so it'll be a crapshoot. I'm not looking for huge production, maybe only 2-3 plants per year. Getting feminized seeds and germinating them myself seems easy enough, if a bit pricey. what's the story with your classes?

Hey Punch,
I dont have any experience growing, especially outdoors in the ABQ area. When I read your question I got to thinking. If you look on a globe, and follow the lines of latitude from New Mexico, you will notice we line up quite nicley with Afghanistan. Not to mention ABQ is pretty mountainous area. Based on these two facts I would seek out an afghani strain. Maybe Hash Plant or Mazar. Again, this is just 100% speculation. Good Luck.

Shmedy, funny you say that. I asked a friend who's got a big grow operation in California and he said much the same thing. Apparently the dry climates of Afghanistan, Pakistan and Mongolia produce some pretty serious stuff. I'll give your suggestion a rip! Thanks!

I know everyone here discusses strains with the intent to grow, but what strains would you all like to see New Mexico producers carry? Not necessarily only for medication, but for clone purchase options? We are dedicated to bringing the best genetics to NM.
