overgrowth

Hi!
I'm new here and I have a little problem with my grow.
I have miscalculated the space I entered the flowering stage and my beautiful females have overgrown.
So in order to avoid them touching the lamps ( warm white florescent) I thought to put a glass between them.
Will it be OK? or the glass will interfere with the light?

Glass will cost you some 15% of your lumens. The thing I would do is tie them down so they can't get any higher. works like a charm

Wouldn't glass act like a magnifying glass?... Take one and put it under the sun..Would that not make it like a laser pointer?

I don't know I'm just giving my two cents :thumbsup:

i think your forgeting something.HOTSPOTS!!!!! it wouldnt happen with glass but if its out of shape or pent(how can you bent class)you would get 1 big bad ass hotspot;)you really wanna do that:jointsmile:fried buds:D

Fluorescent bulbs dont really get that hot. when i grew with fourescents i would grow them until they touched the bulb and then move the light up and inch until the next day when it would touch again. worked like a charm. Tying them down too would be a good idea. but i wouldnt worry about hotspots and what not with fluorescents

Thanks for the ideas, I'll try to tie them down, hope that will be enough.
The florescent already reached the ceiling of my closet...

If I may suggest... next time, bring that light down from the ceiling and put it about 4 inches away from your new plants. Light intensity falls off quickly with distance and with each halving of that distance, you double the amount of light hitting your plants! As a result they will get much more light and they will not stretch so far to reach up to the light. Your end result will be much shorter and more compact plants in flowering and no hitting of heads on the ceiling.
