Local Cannapreneur Will Sue City Councilwoman Montero (http://blogs.westword.com/latestword/2011/02/medical_marijuana_grow_operate.php#comments)
Dan Emmans, a medical marijuana center owner who leases warehouse space for cultivating medical marijuana, is fighting back.
Emmans alleges that the councilwomen disclosed the secret location of his cultivation facility which has prevented growers from renewing their leases. He also accuses councilwoman Montero of a conflict of interest as she leases property nearby owned by land developer Zeppelin.
Closing the cultivation facility would make way for Zeppelin's development project.
Montero has been active on the council in calling for further regulation that could potential close Emmans' facility down which would make his property available and affordable for Zeppelin's project in the area.
It's a relief to hear that cannapreneurs will fight against apparent conflicts of interest and that politicians who wish to manipulate local markets in their favor are made accountable for the abuse of the offices that we have elected them into.
