Hey y'all, this is hopefully the beginning to a lengthy and successful grow log! This is not exactly my first time growing, but it is my first time growing from a seed.
The Info:I purchased 4 seeds from my buddy, spent 15 bucks for them, but i could not find any for the life of me. He said that 2 of them were possibly feminized, and the others he was not sure. Called them Purple Frost... whatever.
In the Beginning I was unsure, and somewhat wary of my methods to germinate these seeds. I was nervous of the napkin drying out, or over watering it and wasting the seeds that were hard for me to get. Instead, i decided to soak them in distiled water overnight, and the next afternoon i put them in my medium, seeding soil. This was about a day and a half ago.
Waiting to sprout It is coming up on 38 hours now, and they still have not broken the surface. Given I DID NOT germinate them, I figure it may take a few days to see a sprout.
SetupBelow is pictures of my set up until i get a sprout. I am not feeling to get too financial about this until i can actually sprout (I have only started from clones, which i was able to grow almost to flowering before handing them over to my uncle.)
Comments are greatly appreciated!!!! REMEMBER: This is only a setup until they sprout, this method is what i felt was best without using germination first.

Good Luck...try to keep soil temp around 80 degrees.
I am using a heating pad under my computer case to regulate temp. because my bedroom runs cool.
If all goes well, I will be constructing a grow box designed by Camoxnhx (HUGE THANKS!!!) which i already have the 6 23watt CFL's to use, and seems very effective.
Here is a link to his work, again, thanks a lot.

i was also wondering how do i make a signature on here? I was just wanting to put in it that this was all just fictitious and I really would never associate myself with something like this.

1) Thou shalt not have a signature until 50 posts and 2 weeks account activation.
2) Thou shalt not post pics until 50 posts and 2 weeks account activation.
3) Thou shalt not give rep until 50 posts and 2 weeks account activation.
4) Thou shall notice when thee is blessed by a + sign along side "registered".
Have a good one!
And,
You may want to cover the pots with something or paint. For the roots to not see light.
Good luck...

still no sprout after about 52 hours, I'm starting to wonder if they are not getting enough heat. I still need to purchase a temperature gauge, and I am thinking of getting a small space heater as well.
Once they come out of the ground i can be a little more confident, but this is slow moving!

R u keeping the top of tue soil moist. Might try putting a ziplock bag over the cup to make a humidity dome.

Yep i did that last night, and have been keeping it moist like you were saying in your previous post. We shall see...

One more thing. R u keeping the lights on. They need light to grow.

Lights are on, heating pad is on. Doing a 20/4 duration for the time being until i can see a little pokage, then will revert going to 18/6.

I'm almost wondering if my method of gauging temperatures in my box is inaccurate. I placed a Mercury thermometer inside my case, up underneath as far away from the lights as i could get it, and it is sitting at exactly 80F. Is this an inaccurate method of judging temp?
My budget constraints are almost breaking me to the limit, I have an irate girlfriend that although enjoys her portions, is not for all the effort I am "wasting" thus far.

ah man a lil advice to avoid this problem germ your seeds and let them pop before putting in soil i mean if you waiting a week for a seed to pop and its a bad one then you have just wasted the week waiting on a seed that was never going to come up anyways
just when you germ your seed make sure your paper towel stays damp place in a warm place and they should pop within 2 days

Youv'e done everything for them, now its just a matter of time and patience. Always hard when your waiting with expectations :)

the super secret to a successful grow is...
...
...
...
PATIENCE
and another good thing for beginner growers - DO NOT be so CARING .... at least that's what I learned LOL (that does not mean ignore your girls either ;))
Give it some time... i'm sure if within a few days the seedling do not sprout you can do something else BUT when I germinated my seeds... it took about 5 or 6 days (In paper-towel) so just wait a little, I'm sure it'll come out sooner or later

ah now just watch them grow man and like poker said dont care for them to much just dude the stuff that has to be done and leave them alone and let them grow but keep a check on stuff to make sure you can catch a problem when it starts or before it starts to effect your babies

UPDATE We have sproutage. After keeping them warm enough and letting them be, they took root and seem to be coming along nicely.

I also changed my setup just a little bit, they will probably be in here for another 2 weeks until i can afford my official box. Until then, this is what I am working with:
http://img513.imageshack.us/img513/9185/sam1283.jpg (http://img513.imageshack.us/i/sam1283.jpg/)
Currently running 3 26watt/1650lumen Soft White bulbs. I will be replacing one of the ones connected to the "Y" Splitter with a 30watt/2100lumen Bright White bulb for vegging.
Plans for moving them to a larger container should begin within 2 weeks or less.
Comments always welcome

You need to get the plants closer to the light or they are going to stretch on you.

Also perhaps you may want to cover the sides of those clear bottles with something - tape, black plastic etc. Roots don't need to see the light and the darker you can make your pots the better.

Hey everyone! Remember me? Glad to see the site is back, and I myself am glad to be back. For all of you that helped thus far, if you are still around, i thank you for the info. Moving on to better days with the green thumb for sure... Heres the journal, new and improved.
Soil: Grower's Proffesional + Perlite
Nutes: Fox Farms Big Bloom(entire cycle, will discuss dosage), Fox Farm Tiger Bloom(flowering)
Lighting: CFL's - 4x21w 2500k and 4x26w 6700k, 4 inchs from tops. 188w at about 12,800 lum.
GrowBox: found a 24x20wide cardboard box that i painted all white. Height is from 2.5-5ft, so they have room to grow. The box can also be opened for fresh air, and closed and ventilated.
Temps at lights off are around 65-70, lights on 80-85, which im ok with.

This is a shot of them at 14 days. Purple stem, very little growth.
http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/5471/day142v.jpg (http://img251.imageshack.us/i/day142v.jpg/)
As the lights come on tonight, I will be on day 22 for them, and they are a little behind. Now they are looking very healthy though. I had to take a risk and 15 days in repot the whole rootball into my GroPro soil, due to high pH levels, and nute lockout. Luckily, I was able to do it successfully on all 3 plants, and after 2 days of shock, they took a liking to it. After 20 days, I started them on there first dose of FF Big Bloom. Starting out on 1/4 strength, the next morning, I could definitely tell they liked the stuff. So this is up to date as it gets for the moment, in about 3 hours is lights on, and i will get some more over all pictures. Stay Tuned!
This is a shot that i got last night, 1 week later from the picture above.
