Questions on Male Cannabis

Hello everyone, I hope everyone is well. On my previous thread "New to this.....[The Verdict] (http://boards.cannabis.com/hydroponics/195906-new-verdict.html)", I stated that I had not been blessed by a female, and it had been confirmed by several forum users.

Since I have a Hydro Setup, and I have a HEALTHY Male STUD growing. The things that I have read about a Male plant are Vague at best, so I've thought up some specific questions to eliminate my confusion on my first grow. This mother-F***** is smelling damn good at this time...I would hate for it to be a complete waste...

My questions are:

1. Can you or even "should you" smoke a Male plant?

2. Will a Male Hydro plant grow any bud?

3. If it is ok to smoke, is there a significant difference between Male Dirt and Male Hydro taste and mental sensation?

4. If it is ok to smoke, (already taking into the effect that males have significantly less THC than females), which parts of the male should I save for consumption?

I personally only keep males for their matured pollen I can get from them. I don't keep any part for smoking or otherwise. That maybe just be me.

Sorry to hear about your all male grow, it happens to us all when using seed from the start. Hope all turns out for you with your males. :)

OK Call me Crazy but I thought Male Plants was just swag ditch bud or just the Regular kind...you know since it had seeds in it...lol:stoned: I would smoke it if I were you:jointsmile::rastasmoke:

Males plants can not produce seeds. Only female plants can produce seeds with the aid of a male plants pollen. ;)

#1 yes you can smoke a male, BUT It wont be a good smoke. very little thc and the high will suck. :jointsmile:

#2 No a male plant hydro or otherwise will never grow bud. Only the female will do that.A male plant that grows bud is a HERMIE and IMHO should die a swift death. :mad:

#3 Your wasting time, resources and effort trying to raise a male to smoke that's like dressing your son in a dress and expecting he come in pregnant after his date. WON'T HAPPEN. Wrong sex of plant.

#4 The only part IMHO that you can smoke if you want to is the leaves. Al tho I don't know why you would want to. You would waste time, money, effort and nute resources on a plant that will give you less the 1/ 20th of what a female will give.
TOTAL waste of time. When I find a naughty boy trying to creep on my girls he is usually D.O.A. no exceptions. The finest hydroponic sensillmillia around. :rastasmoke::stoned:

Buds w/seeds are from a female plant that was pollenated by a male plant (unless it's a hermie as mentioned in the prior response). That's why you pull the males asap unless you are trying to get pollen or seeds for future grows. Always seperate the males from the females if you are planning to get the males to produce pollen and not have seeds in your buds.

It can be good practice and a chance to fine tune your hydro system and room. doesn't hurt so bad when you screw up and learn what not to do (it's just a male). even though it's a male they look good till more beans sprout.

Clean up real good before next run to kill all pollen.

Well....after much consideration and TONS of forum whoring myself for more information - I decided to chop my stud and start over.

The good thing is that I didn't have any open flowers. I'll still clean the area for my next grow just to make sure. Can you guys perhaps recommend a good cleaning agent to use?

Thanks for all of your help, it was a difficult yet wise decision, being my first grow and all.

Soap & water! ;)


Pollen is pretty easy, simply spraying a male with a fine mist of water will knock down the pollen and make it so it won't seed out your girls.
