I'm a beginner as some of you may know by my previous posts. I started flowering a few days ago. and I now see lumps coming from the nodes. I already assume it's a male. But I can not find pictures early enough to determine it's sex at this stage. Can someone who knows what a male looks like let me know? this was the best picture I could get. all nodes have the balls growing as well no signs of white hairs or tear shaped anything.

That picture is still no help. Get the leaves out of the way. When you first start growing it is easy to mistake new growth for male parts.

Alright sorry guys I thought that was a good enough picture. I'm sure I'm still very early in flowering to tell but I seen both male and female preflowers and this doesn't look like either one but like I said I never seen a plant this early to determine the sex. Hopefully these pictures are a better help.

What you are seeing is new growth not sex. I'm just guessing but it looks like you have striped the fan leaves on this plant?
I believe that is whats so confusing about the close up pic.

My plant... I was seeing that in the first week or so of flower too... I still have no definite sign of sex another week later..
Don't think that has anything to do with sex...
Keep looking out for those pistils

Thanks guys, and tiki yes I stripped the fan leaves because this was an experiment plant and I wanted to see a difference in growth if you did it, it's recovered pretty well, doing alot better now that I started it's flowering stage. I am way too anxious for this sex to come! I didn't know males were useless til about 5 weeks ago, and I was told it's more than likely a male because I just planted seeds in my bags. But good thing I resupplied my stash yesterday. That'll keep me calm in the meantime. I also don't know the strain good thing it's gonna be a personal use plant if it's a female.

Much better on the pics. That does look like new growth to me too. It is just too soon to tell. Sounds like you don't have that many plants to care for so keeping an eye on it should be easy.

I was just curious about this... I noticed while having the veg light on it wasn't doing too much, because I only have 2 natural white bulbs and a UVB bulb compared to my 5 soft whites CFL for flowering. All are 100watt 1600 lumens besides one 3500K natural white. But anyway I started flowering and it seems to be vegging better in the soft light, so my question is can I put my natural white bulbs and mix it in with the flower cycle to provide my plant with more lumens? or would it affect the flowering/budding?

That was my experiment plant to see if i had what it took to actually grow a plant here and there, once in a while. But I will be trying some more seeds maybe that ethylene gas trick I've had a seed sitting with 2 tangerines for about 2 weeks now maybe that one will be a female. if not I have about 20 more seeds and if all hope fails in those I'll buy feminized seeds.
Here's how my plant looks, after the trimming about a week and a half later.
time to pull him out. can I do anything with the leaves besides cook? I don't think people would appreciate me cooking weed leaves in their home. lol
