Cloning recipe - Water, Superthrive, Subculture M, Rootech cloning gel.
Veg nutes - GH 3-part (Micro, Grow, Bloom), Florishous plus, Subculture M (maybe not sure yet).
Flowering nutes - GH 3-part, florishious plus, liquid Koolbloom, Dry Koolbloom.

Veg 4 weeks max
Flower 9-10 weeks

Will add more, it is a work in progress :D

When hooking up water lines from bucket to bucket and such, it is recommended to soak tubing in warm water to make it more pliable. Even better than that is a small amount of Petroleum Jelly (Vaseline) inside the opening of the line. Happy Plumbing :thumbsup:

Ha ha no doubt and a good try it was.

Equipment being used since taxes came back and the UPS truck came to visit.

Lights - 3 600w Nexgen ballasts (last time was 2 600w and 1 400w)
Reflectors - 2 Yeild MasterII and 1 Cooltube
System - a slightly modified Ebb & Grow setup with 18 buckets, 12 being used this run. Mods are simple height changes.
Air - 2 12" bubble bars but really need bigger air pump
Circulation - 16" wall mounted osillating fan
Intake air - Passive this time of year but if warms up then 2 Axial fans each mounted on a 3" duct with a total of 4 ducts.
Exhaust - Lights and room EACH have a 6" turbine and dumps right back into Basement. In summer it vents directly outside.

Veg will be no more than 4 weeks. light 18/6 being fed 4 times a day to start.

Ok Scott to answer your question now I have the same number as before. I have my room in basement and then my tent upstairs. When I said new room you can tell by pics that I chnaged a couple of things. First off is the Cooltube which was a 400w is now a 600w so all 3 are the same wattage. You will also notice (no doubt) that I have taken on the Panda film look both on walls AND floor. I have been thinking allot about light penetration and last couple grows had very good succes with trimming large leaves for better light below but it still is lacking. Thats why its on the floor also. I want to see a difference.



Hey PP I just read your post again and wanted to make sure we were talking about same stuff. The center piece is the bouquet that Mamma Kush gave up :jointsmile:

This is my DIY cloner I made but have not really posted anything about it as I'm still playing around with it. Does a real good job of flinging water inside where it counts and I stay dry so it must be working right.

This was by far my WORST attempt at cloning ever! Started a total of 33 clones and 12 survived. Always remember 1 simple thing, when all else fails check your basics. Does anything really want to survive nevermind start roots when humidity never reaches 10%?

I dont think a grow area should ever get to the point where it never changes. There are always going to be little tweaks and such here and there to improve on what you have you just have to do alot of thinking lol. Like I said my main concern to this point is light penetration and I'm really looking forward to seeing how this goes. OOps got to go time to eat :thumbsup:

Kinda what I was thinking at first but nothing has changed besides going under the big lights. Didnt think it would be possible to have a calmag issue when using the same water as before when rooting them and put them at half strength. Not to mention have never had a calmag issue and cant believe would start now ................................. unless strain specific?? :wtf:
Put them at 100% nutes today and will give a couple days to see if it gets worst, if so I have a trusty bottle of Calmag just in case :D

Last night I gave them a shot of Calmag just to be on the safe side since I have always been told to go with your first instinct, which in this case was cal/mag but then changed to N. Normal dosage off the bottle for light feeding would be 5ml per gal and I cut that in half. Just to be clear I am still only using GH products. The Calmag I have is made by GH.

If I had to guess, then yes I would vote for cal/mag.

Now that I have been doing this for a little bit, I can't even imagine using the recommended dosage amounts on the bottles.

I used Calmag once at recommended dosage and all it really did was make my basement smell like a room full of dirty gym socks. Thank god when they flowered it overcame that smell. :wtf:

I'm doing Kush for my first time as well, but the grower I received them from pretty much specializes in that strain...and according to him its kind of a lanky stretcher, high quality lower yielding strain(pound and a half per 1k)

I used BM on mine to control the stretch though, its in my log/sig if your curious

Well I started my own mother from seed and took clones off of her. These are the first clones from her so the only thing I have to reference by is Momma and that was under 4 23w CFL and 2 24" T8's now I have cut out 2 of the CFL's so she doesn't outgrow her home lol. I hate to say it but Momma in DWC is great if you need to pull 30+ clones every couple weeks but in my set up I'm going have to do something different, maybe a recirculating drip or something. I really dont want to go to dirt if I dont have to, dirt suppose to stay outside :D

I grew a few plants (OG Kush) in my second grow. They stretched a little in veg vs my Lemon Haze but they got thicker than the Lemon Haze in flower. The OG Kush I grew was a strong/thick plant. :thumbsup:

Tiny, are you using subculture? That's a powder, right? Do you have a problem with it plugging tubes?

I used the Subculture during cloning and first week in basement. Yes it is a powder and no it didnt clog any tubes. I would reccomend taking a jar or something with water out of the res and add the Subculture to that and mix until all dry powder is mixed in then add to res. The bubbles from bubble bars will break it down and mix it in but using jar eliminates the worry.

Looking Really nice Tiny!! I have a Buddy that has real estate like you... 3 1000 watters and all he does is veg and keep mamas and cuttings. You did the right thang with the cal-mag.. Tiny it looks like you fixed the yellowing lower leaves BUT you didn't solve the problem because, you upped the N,I assume the whole EC. not just the N content. and then you added CaMg, SO what was it that was the cure???????

when I raced I learned the hard way (YOU ONLY MAKE ONE CHANGE AT A TIME) otherwise you haven't a clue what really made it go faster(slower in my case)

I guess I really sucked at publishing the results of the problem huh? hehe :sorry1: I do understand the "change 1 thing at a time" plan as I use it almost daily diagnosing vehicle problems and I have only 1 reason for jumping to nutes as fast as I did after adding CalMg, I have never really needed Calmg in ANY of my grows as of yet. I used it once in the basement and showed no difference compared to not using. One thing I did forget to mention was that this strain of Kush does NOT like going heavy on nutes. My rez of 30 gals normally runs 150/150/150 (5ml per gal) and it caused severe adverse effects. Talk about nute burn LOL, it was like hitting them with a friggin blow torch. I dumped the res and dropped to 100/100/100 for 30 gals and they love it!!

My bad for doing a crappy log but allot of stuff going on atm and I'm going in about 20 directions at the same time. :giggity:

hey tiny, i've been messing around with trimming lately too. i'm wondering, when you trim, do you cut the entire fan leaf off or do you only snip off a portion at the end? i've heard trimming just the upper half of the fan leaf stresses teh plants less. what's the word on this?

well dont take my word as the golden word but IMHO I take the entire leaf minus maybe a half inch away from plat stem. I have not run into any problems as of yet and this is prob the 4th grow that I have been doing this. I really should have started snipping sooner than I did on this grow but when the body says no sometimes you really have to listen. I read somewhere that a grower was doing the trimming right through veg and into flower as to keep stress down since it would be spread out over the entire grow but I try not to interupt veg to much. By trimming I can honestly say that the yeild seems higher, the entire plant finishes at the same time instead of top then bottom a week later and at harvest time most of the leaves are gone already so it is a matter of seperate buds and throw in spin-pro then done.

Hey tiny... I saw this video on youtube... This guy had 6-8 feet tall plant that were mama's. They were in veg.. He took some electric hedge trimmers that looked like a swordfish, and hacked them to about 5 feet tall. Said he ain't never seen anyone do this,so he was gonna try it to see what would happen. Nothing bad happened.. If anything,they thrived and produced more budsites than you can imagine.. I'll find the video and post ya the link.

nope never tried bushmaster or anything of it's kind. I have read about the great response that both you and Marty received when you both used it but to tell you the truth if I started using it I most likely would have to reduce the number of plants that the system can grow to allow for more side space between plants. The sob is setup for 18 plants and best I have done so far was 15. I blame my cloning not the system. It is also extremely hard to "experiment" with 1 or 2 plants when they are on the same res. Maybe I'll try it in the tent as the most I do in there is 4.

Cangro ..... you really need to read more. LEO= Law Enforcement Officer as for the med card, there are still only about 12 states that believe in Medical use of Maryijuana that means around 38 still dont allow it. I am in one of the 38 :(

wow Tiny... I am so sorry to hear this. Maybe someone else can be helped by hearing about your experience here where things went out of your control. It is so unfortunate that because the GF's relatives were allowed to come in, the LEO's were let into the grow house. I hope that GF realizes what you have given up to help her. I just came across your log today, your setup was looking great. I can only dream to have such a nice garden. But you know this already and I didn't come here just to say that.

I have retained an attorney listed on NORML some time ago. As I live in one of those states such as yours. I would also advise anyone that has the means to do so. Especially if using cannabis as medication and not for profit.

A guy in my area was growing cannabis for medication, and was busted. With the help of NORML he was cleared of all charges. I hope the same for you my friend.

A lot of us say we use cannabis for medication but fail to go through the proper channels to PROVE that we use cannabis in that manner. I don't feel that I should be saying what you should do, but its better to leave some sort of paper trail showing that you have tried all other means (medically) but found cannabis to be the best medicine for you.

Like for me, USMC for five years. Deployed three times I've seen somethings and done somethings that I would never wish on anyone. They put me on medication for anxiety (can't be around alot of people) and sleep disorder. These high priced pills cost the government and me money. Not including the stomach problems from the anxiety pills and the lethargy from the sleeping pills. Well cannabis helped me with all of that. I'm a functional and social human being again.

Honestly I'm somewhat afraid to see myself without medication (cannabis).

Tiny, I thank you for helping me out and helping many others out on this forum. I really wish there was more that we could do. The only way to legalize cannabis is through education and sticking together. We have a long fight ahead of us!

Hopefully the fight won't be as long as we think. As you brought up Norml I'm sure you know about the bill trying to reform marijuana. I have encouraged as many people as I can to atleast go to that website and have the letter sent to their representitive about this reform. Our day will come when they will understand that we are not all potheads. If I dont have my smoke I can't work for 2 reasons, 1) the chronic pain in my back. I'm a friggin mechanic bending over picking up tires sometimes weighing almost as much as me but hey I have a mortgage and no choice. 2) I too have an axieity (sorry for spelling) problem but it is also combined with one hell of a temper. If I'm not feeling a calming affect from my medication (Cannabis), I could be omw to work have someone cut me off and I would dam near force them off the road and beat the hell at of the sob but so far so good :) . They now can prove that THC stops the progression of both Huntington's Disease and HIV. It also has been found to kill the cells that are associated with Liver Fibrosis. The thing that pisses me off the most is reading about this bust and that bust but there is never a "good" word about Marijuana. I have watched and recorded 4 or 5 shows from CNBC about marijuana but who the hell watches CNBC? Good things need to be brought to the public eye not hidden on a website that nobody knows about. If every member of this site wrote (e-mailed) their Rep, think of the numbers and if every member got 1 friend to do it also?? Communitys such as this one can be blamed to a certain extent. Look at all the pop ups when reading on here and where is the one advertising NORML?? I myself am not gonna give up.

Well now I guess it time to finish this thread off. Court again today and to my surprise the judge hands down an unconditional discharge and I'm golden as long as I keep my arse out of any trouble for the next year. Yippeeeeeee!!!!! /Happy dance. no probation, fine or anything :jointsmile:
