At Fort Bragg a military jury sentenced a soldier to death Thursday for a deadly grenade and rifle attack on his own comrades during the opening days of the Iraq invasion,a barrage that prosecuters said was triggered by religous extremism.

Sgt. Hasan Akbar ,who gave a brief, barely audibleapology hours earlier, stood at attention between his lawyers as the verdict was delivered. He showed no emotion.

With thousands of people in the military, your bound to get some bad apples. (can you say Abu Gharaib?) Just be thankful it wasnt a fighter pilot with a 10,000 pound payload who decided to go apeshit.

you realize these guys' minds have been twisted beyond repair. Those men no longer have a will of their own. But yeah, that does make for a damn good soldier, they're practically robots.

I'm sorry to action your undoubtedly idle suggestion, but I have. And frankly, I'm glad they're on your side too.

You may be interested in the statistic (and this is legit from the UK MOD) that most of the people who make it into the SAS (our bunch of hard bastards, and world leaders at it I might add) are Scottish! About 70% of those selected!
Must be all the porridge and bad weather.

You have to..or else...
There was a thing on recently about how people, when they 'retire' from teh SAS or special forces around the world are almost unemployable, which is really sad when you consider the "£$£$£$£ thats gone into training these big monkeys.

This guy deserves everything that is coming to him.

I spent 8 years in the army as an infantryman, i served in Afghanistan for 1 year. This guy shit on the most important value in the army....look out for your buddy. Yeah i agree that they should of seen this one coming, but in no way is putting this guy to death wrong. In the army your squad/platoon members are like your extended family, and this guy basically killed his brothers. Im my opinion this guy needs to get it back 10x.
