Hey guys, if you havnt already seen some of my pics, they are on another thread under indoor growing... so here is a quick catch up. ordered bm seeds from nirvana, delivered in 10 days from holland to AZ. all 10 popped and are about an inch tall now... some still have yet to shed the seed shell, if it takes too much longer then I will see if they will come off with a lil help... if they do not come off VERY easily, then I wont bother...im guessing its the plants way of saying.."hey... i am not comfy with my body...yet." That... and the fact that im sure the plant is still using some very important nutrients from the seed shell.

Ok, now that we are all caught up...

2/4
Day 5(from seed)
Blue Mystic

"Blue Mystic has its origins in California. It is a mostly indoor strain but will do well outdoors in most climates. The plant is mostly Indica and produces heavy buds with a shiny blue shade. Blue Mystic produces a smooth, fruity berry flavour. With the added bonus of having a fairly low smell level in the grow process.

Yield- 450g/sm"

ok, now that you are a lil more familiar with the strain.I would like to bring you along on my journey. ENJOY

Oh, yes. I forgot... I am also growing a mystery plant... not sure what it is due to the fact that a friend had some seeds in a matchbox, some good, some shwag... so we will see... but it is around 14 days old from seed. so you will be seeing its pics as well.

ok... so I made a light stand today out of 1/2 '' pvc, ran the wires through holes that were drilled in the pvc. with the 4 100w bulbs, (putting out 2400 lumens each) and the flouro t12 that I have, I should be pushing out around... 12500 lumens or so.. this will be increasing when I get my t5 but I figured.. for less than 20$... why not... it also keeps it nice and warm in my grow room...

oh, in one of the pics of the mystery plant.. there is a yellow spec on the leaf... idk what it is.. i know its not burn cause I keep the plant 2" away from the flouro.... what do you guys think?

kantgitwrite19

oh.. and I decided to move the mystery plant to soil... just thought I would let yall know. the bm will more than likely be in an aeroponic system though.

so 9 of the seedlings have lost their shells and are getting perky. I have them sitting around 15 inches away from a t12 flouro, they seem to be really liking it. I was wondering if the last seedling had stopped and was dieing so I took the plug out of the rockwool to see where the root progression was... it was just poking through the bottom of the plug so its still growing just not above the rockwool... im guessing that it will take off here pretty soon once that tap root hits the solid rockwool, just a slow grower right now.. we will see where it goes from here.

I took the mystery plant out and have it sitting in some natural sunlight for about 4 hours, It is looking really good right now and starting to smell as well. I just wish I could find out how to stop the yellow spot on it.

I also noticed that some of the seedlings are also growing their second set of leaves already, like 7 of them actually... so thats exciting.

I am also going to start 18/6 for the seedlings to see if they perk up a lil more then move them to 24/0

Seedlings are looking good, looking forward to see how they grow. Now regarding that yellow spot, has it grown at all, or it just sits there? I'm asking cause if it remains unaltered, maybe you had spilt something on the leaf or something and didn't realize. Definitely not a light burn for sure though. Try making a better pic of it more focused and zoomed ON the yellow spot. ;) I wouldn't worry too much about it if that one spot is the only problem... ;)

Peace,
:hippy:

hmm ok, so im not sure if this is a good or bad thing, or if there is anything that I need to do to fix this but my plants are starting to get really tall... the seedlings are almost as tall as my mystery plant and they are like.... 15 days behind the other one.. is there anything that I can do to get the seedlings to stop being so leggy?

sorry about the double post... but I think the stretching is because they were a lil bit from the lights.. I moved them about 4 inches away from the flouro tube now... I also added some smaller cfl's to help with the light but not increase the heat too much. I am running the heat at around 76 durring the day and 72 at night. I dont have anything to measure the humidity but I will walk in there and if I think it feels dry(as I live in AZ) then I will put a pot of hot water in the room to let it humidify the room a little bit. I cant wait for the seedlings to get atleast 3 sets of leaves on them because that is when I will turn on all of the cfl's and hopefully I will also have my t5 by then too.

lets see... what else was done today...

poured some 6.4 ph'd water with diluted root stim( 2 ml/ quart) into the bottom of the tray that my seedlings are in to let the rockwool soak up some water. I watered the mystery plant yesterday and am going to let the soil dry out some so that the roots can go searching and expand their lil network a little bit. I plan on watering the mystery plant again.... probably tuesday, we will seee how much the soil has still retained at that point. I have the mystery plant in a 1 gal bucket right now, I think I will leave it in there for the remainder of the grow, I dont want it being too large and I know that the lack of space will stunt its growth a little bit, which is fine for me since I think the plant is just some bag seed anyways.

well thats it for now I think... I will be up for a little while so if you guys hav eany comments or questions hit me up, I will check back in every so often for the next few hours... ttyl :):rastasmoke:

alrighty.... so this is day 10 from seed, sorry I have been busy... and by busy I just mean lazy and havnt posted pics.. not a whole lot has been happening to my seedlings... just growing a lil bit.. I transplanted two of them into a dwc already... The dwc will eventually be the home of all of the bm plants. I also started lst my mystery plant. It has taken very well to this other than the fact that one of my cfl's fell down and burned one of the leaves... its not a fan leaf, but one of the 5 pters that just came out.... It is right in the middle of the leaf so if the tip continues to stay green then I will keep the whole leaf there due to the fact that its not detrimental to the plant if its staying alive. If the leaf starts to yellow at the tip then I will trim the burnt part off.

I had ordered a t5 but decided to go another route... I ordered a 400w mh, hps digital combo. I am goign to mh it up as soon as I get the light. As for the current set up that I have witht he t5 and cfls... I will use this if I decide to clone or if I get some new strains in between this grow. I will just have to section off part of the room or build a veg box( i am going to build one anyways because tucson has a very limited if none at all supply of clones... So I am thinking about keeping a mother plant and cloning her out. ) I took some new pics today, I am looking for my cord to link up my phone to the computer so that I can upload them on here. thanks for the views, glad that you guys are checking in and keep me updated on any suggestions and all that jazz... :stoned:

here are some of the seedlings , I ended up trimming off the burnt part and have my mystery plant sitting out in the sun for about.... 2 more hours... seems to be LOVING IT. I think its about 80 degrees where it is sitting too... the stucco really holds in the heat and makes it nice and warm where she is sitting!

kantgitwrite19

when I get my mh, im guessing that they will all start to grow at a much faster rate than the t12 and cfl's they are under right?

Your kids will love the MH. I have one also and I almost spend as much time under it as the girls, its a very pleasent sunny light. All I need is a pair of sunnies and a good book and I think I'd grow a couple of inches myself :)

will the 400w be big enough for 10 plants ? My grow space isnt too big, and they are only going to be spaced out as much as it takes to fit 10 5gal buckets as I am doing dwc set ups on all of them I also made a multiple plant dwc, it fits 3 plants into a 30 gal storage tub

I read somewhere that you ideally want atleast 5k lumens per plant... is this accurate? because this light puts out 50k... so I might want to get a 600w instead.. but then I have to REALLY deal with the ventilation problem and keeping the temp under control.

It's not per plant it's per sqft. 2k lumens seems to be the absolute minimum and over 5k is optimal (up to 7-7,5k iirc)

No no. People are watching. You are running a nice, compact grow log. Lack of comments usually means you have it dialed in. It's when you are facing problems or if you are doing something obviously wrong that you will get feedback. Just keep plugging away. You can look at the thread view count tog gauge how my eyeballs are on you. Peace.

kantgitwrite19
02-12-2011, 01:16 AM
I hate looking at the thread count because it pisses me off, especially when I ask a question and I see 50 new people looking at my thread and nobody has said a thing lol...

well then it will prolly work out fine with what i had read anywhats... a 5 gallon bucket takes up about a square foot :) what a kawinkidink! ok...so its appearently going to be like high 70;s low 80's for the most of the week so I am thinking that my girls are going to get some quality time out on the window seal! SUN BATHE BITCHES! Here they were today soakin up some good sun! I am going to have them under the sun as much as possible because they are still trying to stretch a lil...so untill I get my new light I am going to pull them outside as much as possible. I am still running the lights 24/0 when I get my mh i will more than likely switch to 18/6 or 20/4 I am not sure quite yet which one I should do.

sorry about the pic, I didnt resize it this time since it was only one.

By putting them outside you invite pests into your room. Plus you run the risk of damaging them during the move to and from. It is a sure fire vector for all kinds of headaches. I suggest leaving them alone.

kantgitwrite19
02-12-2011, 02:45 AM
alrighty. I will leave them in. I didnt even think about that, I figured that since its soooooooooooooo incredibly dry and the sun is pretty pure out here it would be good for them

bigsby
02-12-2011, 03:38 AM
A lot of people do it and a lot of people get bugs in the their room. Given the nice sun you have available I can see why you might want to go that route. Just giving you something to think about. Usually it is more headache than it is worth.

Lord I'd love even a half hour of your beautiful sunshine lol.
I read through virtually all the current working logs every day but rarely comment as I'm just a beginner and would hate to put someone wrong. So I stick with admiring, learning and sometimes commiserating.
Keep up your great log

02-12-2011, 11:59 PM
haha thanks. I will post some pics later, its my roomates bday so we are going to celebrate tonight... so im sure there willb e some drunk blogging..I found that I can still get them in the sunshine withough having them outside. the same room that has that window ledge I can put them inside and still give them 6-10 hours of sunlight... I would have to move them over 1 time to get them the full 10 but I think I will just wait untill I get my precious(light) in.

bigsby
02-13-2011, 12:19 AM
The question is, if you can grow them outside with that sun then why not do that? You could simply veg them inside and then move them outside to flower. Just a thought. Knowing nothing about your situation I realize this is likely not possible.

kantgitwrite19
02-13-2011, 02:01 AM
yea the way that my house faces... its gay during the winter and early spring months the only part of my back yard that gets sun is the top of the fence. my yard dies every year and then comes back when there is sun.... plus the fact that I have an 100lbs female american bulldog... a 120lbs english lab and a golden retriever that would piss and run all over anything and everything that would possibly be back there.Ordering my light right now!!

kantgitwrite19
02-13-2011, 02:26 AM
alrighty I just ordered that 400w hps/mh lamp, and an industrial air pump that pushes out 75L per minute... that will give me bubbles for all of my DWC that I will have set up. I just need to get some bigger air stones for all of them... I might just run straight air from the tube and tie it down to the bottom of the net pots for now untill I can get the stones... I should recieve these items late this coming week. EXCITED!

here ya are... I should be able to tell the sex of the mystery plant in a week or two... if it preflowers which it should

kantgitwrite19
02-15-2011, 09:24 PM
ya know... i was thinking... for a indica dominant strain... why are the fan leaves starting to get sooo wide? arent they supposed to be longer and thinner? They almost look sativa...right?

Shovelhandle
02-15-2011, 10:35 PM
most stuff is hybrid but generally, indica has the wide leaf and sativa thin, thin leaves. When plant start their first few weeks there leaves all can look the same, kind of on the fat side.

kantgitwrite19
02-15-2011, 11:55 PM
Right on, i was just reading up on some other people on other forum sites that have grown bm, and there were some posts that people had put that were unsure of their leaf structure as well... thanks

Well, I have officially culled my first lil guy. The leafs were plenty healthy the stem just never got strong enough to hold the plant all the way up. I figured I would pull it and focus on the strong 9 and my mystery plant.10 plants seems like it should give me plenty trouble for my first grow :) as a learning experience,i topped my mystery plant today, was really easy and I will take some pics. Hopefully this will not shock the plant to much.

Try an oscolating fan to give your seedlings a better and stronger stems. If you had your lights closer in the beginning the stems might have been stronger, but a fan will get them in shape in not time, plus your plants will luv the fresh air:hippy:

kantgitwrite19
02-16-2011, 08:49 PM
they have a fan on them... for some reason this one in particular didnt get strong... the rest of them are already starting to peel... or whatever that stuff is... it kinda looks like they are shedding... but not.. lol sorry for the horrible discription... I dont know what it is really called. but yea, all of the other ones are doing just fine.

gahhh so I just checked the shipping on my light and pump.... the light will be here tomorrow which is an awesome thing! but the pump is already here in town...but i wont recieve it until MONDAY?!?!?! wtf usps.... so annoyed with that. i wonder if i can call them and give them my tracking number... i doubt they would let me pick it up. I am not in a big town by any means lol.. all there is here is a university... thats pretty much it.

kantgitwrite19
02-17-2011, 04:25 AM
well... I guess all I had to do was bitch... sure enough my pump came in today... bugger is strong! my lil ladies should have all the o2 that they can handle! I just tore apart my grow closet and am completely reorganizing it... I just pulled out my home made light stand and have the ladies sitting under that so that they can still get their tan on. I found it kinda funny that my American bulldog is like protecting them, she wont let the boys(lab and golden retriever) get close to them. GOOD GIRL :P I will pics of the grow room and I still need to get the plug in there working... GRRR I thought I had it wired the right way but there are soooooooo many wires coming out of the plug its rather annoying... I just don't want to be running everything through an extension cord as that seems like an accident waiting to happen. Another problem that I am coming across right now is I am out of buckets... and out of pots... I have 9 lil ladies(hopefully ladies) but only have 4 buckets....I am going to rig something for the others... idk.. i will make it work.

thanks savage... I am tryin! lol who would have ever thought there was this much that goes into it! ... back in the day when I was just smoking and selling and all that crap... all I knew was it came in a big ziplock baggy or two and it smelled good and got me fucked up... my hat goes off to all of the growers who put in the HOURS AND DAYS AND MONTHS of their lifes to get me my good bud that I have consumed haha... now its time for me to do my part and put in the leg work. I can only imagine how much better the high is going to be from a plant or plants in my case, that I have grown and spent this time over. I will be posting more pics coming up here pretty soon.. I am sure that once I get my light set up tomorrow these lil ladies will start growing and showing those lovely long legs that i love on woman ;):eat:till then.. nom nom!

I am going to water today and use my pure blend pro grow bloom at 4 ml/4liters... or 4ml/gal which is 50% of the recommended dose and water that is ph'd to 6-6.3ish

I'm still watching you closely brother, 2 noobs are always better than one anyway lol. Sorry to hear about your mystery turning into a bloke... How long did you have him veging? I still can't tell the sex of mine, no pre-flowering yet... As for missing the Fed-Ex guy... yeah trust me I know how that is... I missed the delivery of my equipment (lights, ballasts, reflector, ferts, the lot) by being in the loo lol, that sucked!
Keep growing bro and more pics when you get and set up your new stuff, all is going well so far, keep up pace!

He was vegging 24hr light for 6wks. I started him jyst before the new year. I plan on cloning the bm out to guarantee sex and to take about 3if not more weeks off of the process. I am home all day tomorrow so u will get my light and all set up. I am going to rin 20/4for a week or so then switch to 18/6 ... Some of my little girls are looking beautiful! Day 18 from seed and they already have two sets of fan leafs!

I did some research and I am going to go ahead and run the HPS until I get a replacement bulb... I HAVE SUN! lol my whole closet is more than glowing! Bitch looks radioactive! here are some pics of the new set up. I had a 9" fan that I was using and since I dont have the cash to invest in a can fan I mounted the fan on the wall directly behind the light and is blowing on high right through the tube hopefully that will be just fine keeping everything cool. Should I go ahead and set the timer to 18/6? or should I run 20/4? the temp seems to be staying at a constant 75-80 depending if the door is cracked or not. :hippy:

HERE WE GO. so all but 3 of the plants are in their permanent home. I acquired the PERFECT pots for a soil grow... but I am doing hydro/aero.... if anyone is in southern AZ and wants 4 3.7 gal black pots pm me. ANYWAYS... I sent off an email to Never Ehale which is the company I got my light from and hopefully they will send me a replacement bulb for the one that was damaged in shipping as I would really like to do it right with the mh for veg and hps for flower... but for now the hps will do for flower. I have the water ph'd to 6.0 and I put in 50% pure blend pro gro with a shot of root stim booster(yes a shot lol... it works out to 84 ml ) to 20gal of water that is dispersed through almost all of the systems i have going. the temp in the middle of the room(not directly under the light) is at 76.5 so things seem to be going pretty darn good here... I have no idea what the humidity is but Its not that low and its not extremely high...( im from houston so im saying its not 70-80% which is what it was there... and its not even close to that. please, comments, questions..concerns... all are welcome... oh.. and in the pics... don't worry... the wires that are coming out of the wall are completely dead...(disconnected at the breaker box) I am trying to get them running so that everything will be in the room and no super heavy duty extension cables are coming out.

sorry if the pics are a lil off... I am taking the pics with my phone... granted... its a 8mp camera on it.. but yea..

also... 4-9 are probably going to get moved again...I really dont like how there is a gap where they prolly dont get air on the stem... I am going to have to figure something out for them tomorrow... I will prolly make a different dwc for the 6 of them and use a water jet from a fish tank to move the water and focus the bubbles on the 3 buckets...

I know that my plants are a small for their age but I have already chalked that one up to conditions as I had them under a t12 for most of their life already.. I am really looking for things to TAKE OFF here soon... I came across this video on youtube and decided that i want this lol.... 4 plants-4lbs !!!

YouTube - Ã?©Ã?§Ã?â?*Ã?§Ã?â?? oregonKUSH (http://www.youtube.com/user/oregonKUSH#p/u/10/snPw1oLwzKM)

the way that Mr. Kush gets soo many kola's is as soon as new growth starts he tops it and then it promotes the two newer stems to start growing and then you top that one... and you can see the product of his grows!!! ZOMG

so with this new find... I topped all but 1 plant tonight... I left the plant that I think might have root rot as I am going to try to revive it and get it going again before I top it. I also do not know how many of these guys will be female or male... I dont think that topping them will stress them to the point of hermie as I did do a decent amount of research on it before i did it. I was originally hopeing to get around 5 females AT LEAST out of the 9 and hoping for a half lbs in weight.. but in light of my new discovery I would like to shoot for 2-3lbs on 5 plants.... I think that this is a realistic goal if i can do this the right way and get as many tops as shown in the video. :)

for those of you who look at my log, thanks! I will be posting pics tomorrow after I do a water change on my 3 hydro bucket grows... There is a lot to catch you guys up on as I went away from teh large tub for hydro as it took up way too much room. I have 3 hydro going and 6 soil now.. the plants have taken very well to it and are having a lot of new growth

haha yeah I know the feeling. I've lost motivation too. I do keep a very detailed log in my computer and on paper but I'm thinking of giving up the one here. Probably I will ask from an admin to delete it altogether or something. Not worth the risk if none is watching/helping... Anyway...

Not sure about the yellowing, I hope you are more lucky in the plant problems section than I was lol. Looks like either pH spotting or some pest. Check this link (http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=11688), that's what I'm using as a general guide but I've come to realise that nothing looks the same. What I did when I got problems, was to check my pH and then use the table (attached bellow) to see if there are possible nutrient lockouts. Then googled the possible ones for pictures and see if anything matches my case. When nutrient deficiency was not a possibility, then I cut down on feeding and sprayed them with neem oil too as a precaution, just in case I have some bugs. That's the noob aproach but it has worked for me so far, my babies are healthy and going into flowering in a few days!!! :D Plus it makes you feel a little more proud of yourself when you manage to deal with shit like that on your own :D

Now asides that, I wish I could help you more but I have 0 experience with hydro/aero... When I had droopy leaves once in soil, it was cause I had let them dry out intentionally a little so the moment I watered em they bulked up! Keep growing brother, it seems like you have it all together so far! ;) And don't worry about the HPS for veging, I'm using an HPS Agro since day one. I do get what you are saying though, I wanted to do it right too with a MH first but run out of money lol. Next time ;)

Peace,
:hippy:
