View Full Version : Guess how much will I yield.

It's a 5' 10" plant or 1.78 cm, including the pot. Outdoors... It's been about 3 weeks flowering (february 10th will be more or less 1 month). Any other info that you need to guess how much will I yield I'll provide it.

I know some of you hate it when someone asks how much does a cannabis plant produce... well that's not really what I'm asking. What I'm asking is if you can think like: Well I had a 5' 5" plant and I yielded 3 oz so I guess you could yield 5 oz.

I also know it depends on many factors, but anyways, with your expertise and asuming that everything goes relatively well, how much do you think I will yield?

If all conditions are met and it remains happy and healthy until its last days, I'll guess-timate, after properly dried and cured, 2 oz.

By the way, the buds are just starting to gain girth. And today I was inspecting them and they're just starting to produce resin.

To be true, I thought I'd yield much more, I had 2 AFs, and each gave me about 18 grams but I know I could've yielded a bit more if I'd let them get fatter (I harvested a bit too soon), I've been seeing their pictures and I feel that I can fit in there at least 4 of them in that big plant. That would give in theory 4*15= 72 grams.

next time.. transplant to a bigger container...:)

Next time? No use for that now?

I'll let you know the final count after I harvest. We'll see who gets it right =)

Have a nice day!

probably not....roots don't expand much; once flowering starts. It just makes do, with what it's got.

vegging is about growing roots...flowering is about growing the plant. More roots = more plant

Ok. I thought it didn't matter much because I've seen huge plants that are in very very small containers, smaller than mine and bigger plants. It's my second grow, so...

huge plants in small containers requires huge growing knowledge...:)

I want to go romp around in DP's homemade forest for a spell and take in all those scents! :S2:

Love the small containers picture. I have never attempted something so grand in such a small cup. That is truly amazing. Might have to give it a try on one or two to see if I've learned anything after all these years. ;)

Hahah thanks for clearing that up Dutch Pimp ;)

I hope I get much more my next grow... well till next season. BTW I got another plant which is much bigger than that one but it still hasn't started its flowering period. I had to tie the plant down because it was growing too big... with its stem totally straight I'm guessing it would be measuring... about... almost 1.9m, maybe 1.87m. It has much more apicals (larger too), I'll count them.... 40.

The one that I posted (the picture) has... about 28, but they're nothing compared to the other one I'm growing. For example, the one in the picture, its first two apicals are giant, whereas the next two are very small and weak.

I guess, like Dutch Pimp said, it's because it's in a bigger container.

BTW I swear those buds got bigger today. And they're starting to smell too

kind of like fruity, and peanuts...

By the way, I know it seems it is sativa dominant, but do you have any idea or clue of what strain it may be? Regarding your experience.

The only thing I know about that picture is: 600watt HPS & coco coir was involved. Probaby 12/12 from seed? ..clone?...indica?

I hate indoor satvia plants. It's like growing weeping willows...:D

Wowsers this is my first post in years after my old account got deleted somehow.

I'll guess you'll get around 2-3 ounces.

If you had a bigger pot, i'd be guessing almost double that! Looks nice and healthy though :)

Wassup Captain,

Im gonna guess about 2.5 oz. Good luck with it.

Hey DutchPimp-

I am trippen on that dixie cups pic. That is very cool. Never saw anything like that. They look white almost. Very pretty:thumbsup:

There's no use in changing it now? According to another post in another forum:
"Watch for the plant getting root bound. Check if there are any roots coming out the bottom of the planter and any near the surface of the soil. If the plant gets/is root bound the growth will be affected and it will decrease yields and flower development during flowering. You can transplant at any time and it will only slightly slow the plant's development for a week at most and then she should take off. If I were you I would transplant it anyways to a 5 gallon pot, signs of RB or not. A good rule of thumb is for every foot of vertical growth you should have a gallon of soil.

Looks beautiful BTW."

and

"yeah, listen to this man the more rootspace the better and sure the transplant may slow you down a week but you could def get that 4+oz target I was talking about.

make a tree!"

Well root development is much more intense during the veg stage but still continues during flowering. I don't think it'll make a MASSIVE difference if you change the pot now, but it's definitely worth doing. If you are going to, make sure you loosen the roots at the bottom so they can dig deep.

I'd suggest doing it very soon!! :) :)

I think I'll do that. Thanks!
How should I loosen the roots at the bottom? I'm kind of afraid of killing the plant by repotting. I know that I should wait until the soil is dry and can be held as a whole block (the plant will look terribly thirsty?). When I pick the whole thing up I should move the soil at the bottom?

BTW a little update:

its too late to repot now, your almost finished.

I would say 1 1/2 ounces.

Actually, i think this man is right! Looking at your newest photo of the plant, it's probably not worth doing now. Not going to make a difference at all...other than maybe stressing the plant out a bit! Looks like you have around 4 weeks or so to go as a rough guess!

I got a question: Only one other time I've planted cannabis... it was a "white" strain, so naturally the buds looked as if there had snowed. This strain I've no idea what it is, it has some trichomes, should I not expect trichomes on the leaves? (as in white strains)

Trichomes mostly appear on the actual buds/flowers and the smaller leafs close to the buds often have trichomes evident on them too. Some are more pronounced than others though. Often the stronger strains have the 'snowed on' appearance you mention. Later in the flowering stage you'll see more and more trichomes appearing on the leafs.:)

Hahaha, it's been flowering for a little more than a month now, it's very sativa dominant (according to some people) so it'll probably take more than two months ... also by the look of it it still has a long way to go. To be true I have no idea how much will I get, all I know is that its buds are huge now, much more big than the two AF I first grew (which each gave me about 18 grams in the end)...

BTW how much estimated % should one consider when weighting the medicine just manicured and stuff? I think it was 25%? (that is 75% water // 25% bud and some water)

Alright guys, the day is getting closer, trichomes started already to turn into a milky colour. I'm waiting for some of them to turn amber (since this one is more of a Sativa, right? Or you have always to wait them to be half amber and half milky?). Let me tell you one thing, she simply can't stand up straight, not even her branches are straight. Buds got way too big. I'll take a picture before cutting so that you can see what I'm talking about.

well a good thing to remember is when u look at ur plants and decide to pluck em best thing to do is really look at them and judge and tell, your self do they really look ready? most growers tell others to give there plants another two weeks from the initial growers intention to PULL there plants this is really a good method of flowering the plants further for more THC content of the plant .

Mmmm, yummy Sativa. But I do prefer big-ass squat-y Indica.
