How do you test the pH of coco ? I have heard several ways and wanted to know how others are doing it. So far I've heard.......do not test pH by runoff ( will always be higher ? )......Do not use soil pH meter ( why not ? ) .....I've read a few threads that say the only way to accurately test it is to dig down a few inches and mix some coco with water and test that way ( this doesn't make sense to me....wouldn't you be getting the pH of the water is was placed in ? ) Other ideas ?

Use a nutrient line that self adjusts the ph for you...no need to worry...:)

it is easy, coc is much more inert than rock wool or anything elese. so normaly you ph your clean water or your flushwater (always flush coco before usuing it)
to about 6 then let it soak up in the coco for about 5 minutes then crain and squeez your coco. if you have alreay flushed then thats it, the coc is now at ph 6 in about a half and hour including flushing, this can be done with one gallon or 100 gallons of coco. just squeeze all the water out when putting into pots, you need to use nutrients constatnly in coc like a hydro system, especialy calmag.
to check the ph of your buckets after theri planted such as in flushing for harvest or just checking up on things (as usual). Just check the run off, it is not extremly acruate, but you will get about a 6.5 max out of a 6.0 ph goin in. so look for something close if your run off is at 7 then you need some adjustments.
Coco is on of the best growing medumis becaseu of its properties to hold and relese water and also its relation to Ph for growing.

Just focus on getting the ph going in at about 5.6-5.9 and you're good.
(google - "h3ad goes coco", ton of good info there)
