Reliable PH Tester!?!?!?

I am looking for opinions on the best and most RELIABLE PH testers on the market??? Mine took a shit and luckily I don't have much going right now:(

I'm interested in knowing about testers that can be used daily(couple times daily) and will not go through electrodes weekly??? I am not interested in some high maintenece tester that requires more attention than my plants:thumbsup:

Yea, I've been through 2 testers and can't seem to find one to hold up longer than 2-months. I'm thinking I may have to break down and buy a nice $150 digital PH & PPM tester but I hope not. Hopefully someone here can help out:thumbsup:

Just my opinion ifin I may add to yur thread be stayin clear of the do it all testers that be checkin ph light and moisture thisin piece of gear is nothin but crap and found myself buyin those little dip stick ph testers yu be buyin in the pet stores to check aquarium water. Ever since i be buyin these strips been happy as a squirl with his cheaks full of stolen nuts. Hopin this helps ya out.

I have both pen and strips. I don't use the pen very often. Its really sucks take it out, check calibration, clean it after use... Too much thing to do. Mostly I'm using strips. Easy and fast.

I've found that the hannah PH testers work great and only have to be calibrated once a week. I've also used cheap PH testers with the same issues but not with my higher end Hannah PH tester. I use the Hannah HI 98130 which is an amazing tester. Its accurate to a .2 and the electrode will last you a long time. This PH tester is about $150 online but its well worth the money. You wont have to get a new tester for years. Also this tester is waterproof so if you drop it into the water its not a problem. If theres anything you dont want to cheap out on its your PH tester. Bad PH is a sure fire way of locking up your plants so invest a little and get a good one.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion but the tester you listed is only $30 on ebay:wtf:. Just thought I'd run that by you. Friend of mine was using that same meter but he ended up buying some $200 meter because he said the Hanna was junk. I may have to find out for myself cause he's just picky about shit sometimes:D

I do plan to do one hydro plant next time around. I would have last time but I ran in to problems with space. All taken care of now.:thumbsup:

No corners being cut here...Just don't want a meter that needs the electrode changed often. I understand the concept of cleaning and storage but that's not my concern. I am looking for what is a RELIABLE meter that does not go through electrodes often.

My grow log proves that I don't cut any corners and why the hell would I invite you over, you're only replying to try and knock me down and your making yourself look dumb at the same time.

I'm using my pen when I can't see clearly with strips. I don't want to spoil my pen by using unnecessarily.
If hydro, yes, you need a better tool. But, as far as I remember Jon was growing in soil like me and my response was on that. For personal soil grows no need to use a tool for $150. What happened to K.I.S.S ?

i just looked on ebay and that PH tester is $127 at the very least on ebay. Maybe you looked up the wrong one cause there are many levels of testers from Hannah. You might have looked up the 98103 which is the $30 tester. The HI 98130 is the correct one. Heres a link of the one i'm talking about just in case you looked it up wrong.

I also had the cheap one you were talking about and your right it was a piece of crap. Since i have upgraded i have not had any issues with PH. The cheap one wouldnt hold a reading and if you shook it the reading would change. The electrode would also only last about a month. The reading on my HI98130 is solid and accurate. It doesnt change when you shake it and it also has auto calibration so when you calibrate it only takes a few seconds. The electrode will last you a year instead of a month. If you ever decide to grow hydro or grow in coco you'll need an accurate PH meter. The meter i showed you is also a EC/TDS meter so you dont need to get any other meters.

You are 100% correct and I noticed that I was wrong after I replied, my bad:smokin: I appreciate the suggestion for the PH meter you are refering to. It is very nice and seems pretty reasonable. I do plan on doing hydro with one plant in my next grow, so I would like something worth having. I would like to hear from others too befor I make a decision, I'm suprised nobody else has said anything about what they use.
