Trimming/Thinning help

my ladies are about 4 weeks into flowering and i couldn't help but notice how popular it is, from what i see and im assuming, is to cut nearly all the lower small branches with no or barely developing buds that have no chance and leaves off just leaving the top colas

is this a good technique?
any info on would be appreciated

There will always be a huge debate about doing this....go to advanced growing section and read up on supercropping, FIM, topping, and other techniques for increasing yield before you do anything. Personally, I trim, but many here will tell you not to...it's completely up to you, but be as informed as you can be about how to do it before you start.
