I am going to try and get a medical marijuana card but am concerned that they will not give one to me. Here's a few reasons why...I am a veteran and have the WORST dreams on a fairly regular basis..cold sweats..thinking it's reality..and when I smoke before I go to sleep I do not have the same problem. But this is not something I have been to a doctor for nor do I want to...I have been medicating illegally for a while and unless someone can tell me another route will have to keep getting it this way instead of the right way......any suggestions?

Do you get migraines?
I believe thats a condition listed.

I know a few ex military that get "migraines" and they got permitted.

Hello Qball21,

As far as being a veteran and using MM the VA will not discriminate against you getting a medical marijuana card and using it as long as it is within the guidelines of that state. However you cannot go to a VA Dr. to get recommendations as they are federal. Migraines is one I was going to take a stab at insomnia, but I could be wrong. Here is a link to WA DOH MMJ guidelines: Medical Marijuana Frequently Asked Questions - Washington State Dept of Health (http://www.doh.wa.gov/hsqa/medical-marijuana/).
Hope this helps.

1st off you need to go to the VA 1st. If you in Tacoma and just need someone to go with you I'm down. I have to go once a week for PTSD. And its just as bad for me to. Go to the VA 1st then look else where. For anyone to tell you else is a fool. Understanding what is wrong with you is the 1st step. There is alot of vets on here and im sure they will back me up on saying go to the VA 1st. And if you need a support group we are here.
