Well after a lot of reading and taking notes from this site i have finally completed my first successful grow. Now i need to find out what is the best way to dry out the bud. I have heard a lot of rumours, some saying pull the roots and hang the plant upside-down and others saying cut the buds off individually! But as i say its all rumour! Is there any one out there that can advise me of the best way to do this i would be most grateful.... thanks folks...:rastasmoke::cool:

To what I have read, you trim... then cut.. then hang dry... then cure :)
But then again that might be what you may be referring to as a "rumor" method. I have yet to try though.

Those "rumors" you've been reading are best ways for those people who wrote them. If you call them rumors how will you trust any other advice here? What will make them different than "rumors" ?

By the way, what it has to do with plant problems at all?

Hanging is an old wives tale, but does have it's use if you have no other way. Myself I prefer wire bottom trays. I cut all the buds off and dry them in one layer in the tray.

Yup. I'm with Washougal on this one. I strip the buds from the branches, and use a wire rack on a cookie sheet. If in a desperate way...that cookie sheet goes in the oven at 150 degrees f. for 2 fifteen minute increments, fluffing and turning occationally. Doesn't burn anything, doesn't completely dry them, but gives you a couple day head start on curing.

Be careful with hanging your freshly harvested buds upside-down. Especially if the room has insufficient air circulation. For one thing, it does not force the resins down twords the buds, and for another...if no air, the buds can mold quickly. Humidity, ambient temps and air circulation will determine how you process and dry for curing.

yeah, I hung my first plants a few weeks ago, and once accidentally left the light on in the room that they were hanging in- voila, powdery mildew started all over.
