Very low cost aand idiot proof?

Ok, so here's the deal I am broke and also a do-it-yourself idiot. I have a hard time screwing on license plates, LOL! I am also a VERY excited and anxious newbie wannaba grower. Been studying several grow and medicinal forums, watching you tube until my eyes go blurry...even dreaming about the buds I am gonna grow :420thought:, how obsessed is that?

I feel like I am ready to star my first grow from a botany standpoint. I have a buddy who grows as well and has been for many years. And even though I have never grown a single stem I have been sharing the advice on cultivation I have learned, and his yields are almost doubling. This has come from the knowledge I have gained over the last 7 months. I wish to thank you all as well...it is your posts and threads that have been my instruction.

What I am looking for is a very simple 'grow box for idiots' :what: inexpensive way to build my own box for a few, maybe 4 auto flowers. I would need step by step instructions as well because as mentioned I am not what you would call a handy kind of guy. I am leaning towards purchasing a box from stealthyhydro.com (www.stealthyhydro.com). They sell a turn key box for $239.00 so I won't have to build it. But, even that is more than I really can afford at 1 time, after figuring in soils, pots, food, and of course seeds. I have seen posts about rubbermaid boxes and even a few made from cardboard. I was hoping I could find someone to help me figure out how to do this on $100.00 or less. Any info or advice would be appreciated.

Dude, i am in the exact same position as you (except for the idiot part on Do-it-yourself) lol no offense. The box you are talking about cost 239.00 or so my setup cost me that much factoring in soil, lights, box and all the other nicks and knacks you need.

Now don't expect a 3lb yeild from your auto flowerer's, but you can get some nice buds to smoke for yourself or with your friends and you may be even to sell it in grams and make a little money back.

First i went to a local store (Walmart, Target, lowe's etc) and picked up a Sterlite Garage Storage unit. (I'll post the dimensions when i find the box) but that cost me about 60 USD.

Next i went to Lowe's and picked up two 2ft Fluro bulbs and a Ballast (like i said ill find the specs when i visit my growhouse next)...you can also get your soil, pots, some nutrients, a timer, ventilation tubes, and some fans. This all probably cost me about 100USD maybe a little less. (i didn't save the reciepts)

After i collected all my materials all you have to do is read the instruction manual on how to set up the Sterilte Shelving (its really simple.....i was FRIED! when i put it together and she's still standing.)

I can post pictures if you want to show you how its set up but all in all it cost me about 215USD and will fit in almost any 5ft closet. ( The box of course is optional, i just use it cause its easy to lock and can hold all your growing related items so there is no suspicion)
