Is it legal to have a scale in your possession if you are a medical marijuana cardholder?

no it is not legal to have a scale. Even if u are a card holder you are not supposed to be selling the marijuana. The scale, and turkey bags will both go as intent to sell.

no, you cannot carry anything on you that may be chalked up to using for dispensing marijuana. learn to "eyeball " your sacks is my advice, or get a multi tool that serves one main purpose, but doubles as a scale so that it mostly appears to be, say, an MP3 or Ipod. I think droid has a digital scale app if you've got a droid phone. their touch screen phones are not heat sensitive like the IPhone, but pressure sensitive, ideal for weighing things out. accurate to a tenth of a gram.

First of all, let me say...hi. I wanted to introduce myself, since I am new to this site. I just recently got my mm card, and stay within the guidelines, but I am confused about the scale issue. If your a caregiver, wouldn't you need a scale to weigh their stuff out? I understand if your just growing for yourself, but what if your a caregiver to a couple different people? How do you know your giving them the right amount?

TECHNICALLY you're supposed to handle these transactions inside a building, not out and about. you aren't supposed to just be carrying a sack and your scales around like its a pen and notebook for school. lol and if that really is the case, have your caregiver paperwork on you and you'll be good to go. lol

Yes it is indeed "legal" to carry a scale with you if you are a qualified patient or not a qualified patient. Where it becomes a problem is when that item becomes part of a prosecution as evidence of "intent to sell" which is illegal.

You cannot be prosecuted for the single act of possesion of a scale but it will be used to demonstrate your intent as will baggies, pill containers and anything else you may have with you at the time of your arrest for the crime of selling or otherwise illegally distributing drugs. Selling Marijuana is illegal in California. Read the law for yourself.

California's prop 215 and sb420 do not allow for sales of marijuana under any conditions. Please read the law and then read it again and you will see this.
