Hi i am new and looking for a bit of advice. I am on medicare (just to give a hint to my age) I have had back pain from scoliosis for years. I don't complain about it - haven't talked to my PA about it. I smoke for relief and have for
years. Almost no one knows i do smoke -- i would never ask my small town
doc for medical marijuana. (yikes!) i also have IBS but i am not sure how much
i have whined to my PA about it....this is an issue i imagine some other older seniors may have also. Keeping pain hidden and MJ usage secret. I about hate to go to a Doctor and don't tell the entire truth about my pain when i do. Oh, i can't take pain medication as it makes me very nauseous.... It is dawning on me that i may qualify for medical marijuana....if only it was documented. But it has to be outside my gossipy community but not too far as i have anxiety (god i am laughing at myself) and can't drive into seattle....Olympia probably - tacoma on a very good day....lol....anyway...just wonder if anyone would like to just visit with me about my ISSUES....probably should have put a smiley face here

Sure thing, you are going to have to be honest with the PA or the Doc. They should not judge you, and if they do you need a different health care provider. I too am on SS, so I understand your situation. It is highly doubtful your PA or Doc will write the paperwork, but will be thrilled with a copy of the order from a clinic....They believe, just cannot afford to loose DEA license.

Eating it will help with the IBS, more than smoking for that one...Helps with regularity a lot.

The clinics will want to see a series of reports about your issues including any information about 'legal' drugs you have taken, side effects, and effectiveness.....Got to play the paper trail game.

Thanks for the info. I agree with you about being honest with my
PA. I may also, find another doctor that is not right in my small community. I am really living in a great red-neck area. I love it but it is very conservative. I think being more honest about my pain and everyday little "miseries" with my Doc will help me up the road when i apply for Medical MJ. Hey, don't you love being retired!
