View Full Version : Dried Up Bud = no vapors?

I've been vaping some stuff that's about 6 months old. It's been stored in a Mason jar all this time. I've been sampling it from time to time, over the last 6 months, so I'm familiar with it's strength, odor and amount of vapor.

Over the last month or so, I had noticed a clear decline in the amount of vape from this herb, and a corresponding decrease in it's odor and effectiveness.

I've read the orange/lemon peel trick, to re-hydrate bud, and didn't happen to have either one, so I put a damp cotton ball in the herb jar for overnight. It was SO much better! (Mind you, there are "open" areas in the jar, so it didn't have to sit right on bud). Odor didn't come back much, but I had more vapor and a better effect!

Anyone else ever try this?

Although it's more pleasant, you don't need water vapor for good vaping. Moist weed isn't better or stronger. The moisture just gets vaped first and once the weed is dry, you're right where you are with your old, dried out supply. Weed loses potency over time and you may be experiencing that. You'll also develop some tolerance when you use the same stuff for an extended period. There have been times when I've used the same supply for a long time, then tried some different, but inferior weed, and gotten a better high from it, at least initially.

Yup. Also, if you have a two different strains, you can also mix them together in a salad. Works great. A real tolerance snapper. ;)

Totally concur with vf above. Rehydrating, on it's own, can make your bud smell and taste better, but it won't increase it's strength.
