Allow me to ask your opinion on what is wrong with this plant.
FoxFarms Ocean Forest.
Aired tap water a quart or so every other day or so....depending on temps.
(It has been very cold last 2 weeks during nites, temps in 50's in garden.)
5 weeks at 12/12 1400 W HPS hortilux.
BloomBastic 3 weeks ago at 1/2 mfg dose.
Molasses 1/2 tsp per gal per week.
It is currently the only plant in the garden doing this. (Washougal Widow)
Looked like it is dry so I watered it a lot and let it dry, then after the next watering this happened in 3 days.
I already know what it is, just looking to see what folks can figure out from what I gave you. I will advise Rusty Trichome what it is in advance so I can't be swayed to change my mind.
Let's play

I don't see a problem. Different phenos. Hybrids are hybrids.

... scoots up a chair to listen to the experts.
(nice middle age plant there by the way... hope the cold nights didn't scare it too bad) :)

Fun game.
You say "Watered a lot" Did you flush out all the N? Or drown the roots causing them to die off and look like an N deficiency?
I'm probably wrong. :o but thats ok,... I'm still learning. (only been growing for 11 months)

I am still very new to this diagnosis thing, but since we are having fun here is my guess.
I'm guessing that it may be root bound. The plant has already used up the nutrients in the soil. When you "watered a lot", this flushed out the nutrients that you have added.
Well that's my shot in the dark.

I guess it could be root bound,... that's kinda a small pot, but my rootbound plants don't do that in 3 day's after watering..... of course, they're my mothers and not in flower. :wtf:

its five weeks into flower so i guess its just doing its normal thing and pulling n out of the fan leaves as u flush. looks good to me

I agree with cannawhatsis about the N deficiency. Especially since the watering seemed to have an effect.. Also the temps were a bit low and it looks like it needs to be transplanted.
I'm new too but hell, I'll give it a shot!

K, I'll take the bait....looks like you just over-watered it to me. (Is this the Emilya lesson revisited?...I think she knows now) Reason I ask is "It looked dry, so I watered it" statement...This doesn't sound like you...you didn't ck it with a "does it need water?" test first?
What do we win if we're correct?
"...for $10,000, TANK, WHAT is your name???????" "uh, dam......I knew that when I came in here....uh"....."10 secs left TANK..." "uhhhhh"....RIIIIING! "Sorry TANK, you lose"...."TANK! My name is TANK....dam!" :wtf:

WW, wasn't it you who publicly complained about the use of text talk when posting and then you start a thread that is titled "OMG"??? Welcome to the dark side! LMOAO! (NEW! Laughing my oversized azz off!)...Sorry, I found that rather amusing, but it could just be the meds typing...:stoned:
SoooOOOooo....What did I win????? LOL! :D
GAWD this new batch of AK is killer! My usual two rips (3 if I hurt bad) with coffee in the morning and I am at a new much higher level than usual...only thing I did different this time was use molasses...hmmm...think I'll keep that in the grow regimen from now on!:thumbsup:

Actually every one of you hit it.
It is at end of life. The BloomBastic has very, very high amounts of P&K. When I figured out it was a week older than I thought....goof on calendar (and not divulged on purpose)....I decided I better flush it quick. It turned this in 2 days. I even flushed again after this picture and it damn near dropped every sun leaf. ... save on trimming them off, self trimming weed...yah....I am really getting lazy in my old age.....oops off on rant. Back to at hand. It also was very root bound, and the bottoms of the root ball were beginning to brown at kill a week later. Because of the N being flushed out of the Ocean Forest, there became an immediate N deficiency and thus the yellowing and leaf dying.
The whole point of this post is to:
1. Play and have a good time.
2. Show, that all that is yellow is not necessarily bad.
3. Everything you do to a plant shows up later and can be hard to figure out. Fast movements can equal disaster.
4. One thing can lead to another and the waterfall effect always has to be considered.
Hope we had fun doing this.

well, this should be fun. your using bloombastic...your not to use it when pk is high, as it is an additive of pk. so molasses probably wasnt neccessary. then you said half strength bloombastic so maybe some molasses was needed. id say watering in this case is not the problem as it was dry; assuming everything else is correct(ph, ppm, etc). affects of bloombastic will be noticed in 2-4 days which would lead me to conclude that N is low and any result of this use was incurred by the user based on the flower time of the strain. of course there are other factors such as...was it transplanted in ffof, were there any other feeds or adds, cold could play a small factor but not in 3 days, strain, ph,pot size, blah blah blah, rusty would say fill that f'in form already:D

my question now is, what did u cross the widow with to shorten the flower time..from what i understand, white widow takes 8 to 10 weeks to finish
canniwhatsis
01-16-2011, 06:59 PM
OOOOOHHHH! new game!!!! :D
Guess the cross!
well,... Washougal later posted that he goofed on the calendar, and it was over a week older than first posted, and it was harvested about a week or 2 later, depending on interpretation of wording.
So 7-8 weeks.....
AK47 has a short flowering cycle, but that would be "White Russian" (white widow x AK47)
Soooooo,.... not being a breeder nor much caring to try. I'm tapped.

Frankly I do not know what the father was, Northwest Mint maybe. It retains all of the widow traits except grows like a pure indica. Just as hard to clone as the parent is too. Pure accident and the only seed in that harvest. Maybe I should get some nanners on her and see if I can feminize her? Or cross with another heavy frost plant.

WW, wasn't it you who publicly complained about the use of text talk when posting and then you start a thread that is titled "OMG"???
Actually, OMG is a saying that's been around since the early 80's. (the movie Valley Girl) That would be like running WW up the flagpole for using CIA or FBI as a texting shorthand. Nice try though.

Why not try for some fem seeds??? WW, this was a good thread...maybe we should have more of these "guess the problem" threads....oh wait! WHAT? Nevermind....I see we have plenty of them everyday in the plant problems pages! :wtf: LOL! Seriously, you are a good teacher and I always learn something from your posts.
Hey Rainhaze! For $10,000....what is your name? LMAO! I am having so much fun with my latest harvest of AK....if I can ever find the @**^%$&^ cable to hook up the camera to the 'puter, I'll post some pics of the tops up....stack your two fists one on top of the other and you get an idea, if you have big hands...I made the mistake of takin two rips this morning from a top and I'm flying without a plane! LOL! I went around yesterday to various friends to watch football games and left each house, and everybody in it, in a coma! LMAO! They all called me this am and wanted to know WTF was that stuff??? "I don't remember the 4th quarter at all"...:D
God bless the man, "Simon", that bred AK47!

But it doesn't matter, I was just pokin a friend in the ribs a little, not tryin to run him up a flagpole! :weedpoke: :)
