What do I do if my premixed nutrients are above acceptable Ph levels? I read somewhere the "ideal" ph levels are in between 5.5 to 6.7. Can anyone help? I'm using a Ph meter.

What is it your growing in?
What is your "above level"?
Who told you 5.5 to 6.7 is ideal?

what kind of soil? Fox farm ocean forest.
my ph was 6.5 n I kno that's still in the "ideal" range that I posted earlier but something makes me feel like its still too high.
N I don't remember where I read it but I read it on a website.

What is the real Ideal PH with nutrients?

You're good with your PH. Nutrient water PH can look high but it will be buffered in soil. Don't worry.

i started using nutes because on the FFOF it says it only has a month worth of nutrients for the plants. but if i dont need them let me know it would be cheapere :)

no need to add nutes until the plant[s] start showing a deficiency. agree that ph is ok. Hanna makes good meters ,it was a wise decision to get one.to save $ on calibration solution i bought a case of bottled drinking water with minerals added for flavor ,tested 3 bottles for PH and PPM/EC and recorded the results. 10 cents to calibrate vs $1 .for PH down i use a phosphoric acid based concrete cleaner available at HOMEDEPOT/LOWES. $12 will get enough to treat 100's of 1000's gallons .

at the beginning I was using MG soil but it was turning true leaves yellow n no I don't know how to use that part of the meter yet. The meter didn't come with instructions.

2 Teaspoons battery acid for 5 gallons water is working out real well. brings ph from 8.2 down to 6.1- 6.3.
Got some rubber gloves and popped the caps and drained then into a plastic pail then carefully poured them into 2 litter bottles..
I have access to old batteries, and it seems to stabilize my ph a lot better.
One plant likes it sour the other sweet. I would say just keep em happy.

acid taken from old batteries will have LEAD dissolved in it . PLEASE DO NOT USE USED BATTERY ACID FOR ANYTHING. Gatekeeper should DESTROY any plants that he has given it to and dispose of the medium in a hazardous waste drop site.he should also go to a DOCTOR and get tested LEAD POISONING as soon as possible.WTF was he thinking ..................

Thank you both for ur input as i am a beginner and any knowledge is better than none but im gonna have to agree with seventh child....how can battery acid be good for your body...? Maybe if this weed was just for testing and throwing away but this is MEDICINE thats going into my body, I have been taking extra precautions to go as organic as possible.

Sulfuric acid [battery acid] is commonly used for PH down and is safe if it is new [unused].handle carefully....it can MELT skin...fumes can damage lungs..Sulfuric acid - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sulfuric_acid) it is the LEAD that is dangerous........very dangerous....banned for most uses worldwide....Lead - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lead)
