sorry i just woke up. didnt specify that i only need the hps for the 3' x 3' closet. would a 150 watt work or should i go for a 250 watt?

I am using a 400 watt for a 3'x3' cabinet. Just make sure you have a good exhaust system.

thnx. so what kind of yield do you see with the 400 watt? i know that different strians will yield different amounts, and theres other factors that will influence it but im just woundering if i take good care of it what would a general idea be?

3 x 3 means you have a 9 square foot growing area. Optimal is 7,000 to 7,500 or higher lumens per square foot. So 9 x 7,000 = 63,000 Lumens for optimal growth. Some of the better HID's can produce 125 lumens per watt. Now after all the numbers, I would go with a 400w light and make sure to kept ventilation and cooling good.

+3 for the 400w

As for yield under 400w, I've been pulling 2.5-3 oz per plant off of my blueberry (indica dom) under the 400,... my biggest under the 400 was 3.5oz finished and cured.

I can get 2-3 plants of that size under that light. It's tight, but works ok. Check out my last grow log (http://boards.cannabis.com/grow-log/190199-scrog-shot-2-a-5.html) This was done under 400w, and for the first 3/4 of the grow there was another plant that also yielded over 3 oz in the same area! ;)
