1st grow...amateur setup

This is my set up, and it seems to be going well so far, i have 2 lights, both fluorescent. 6" fan on low, right now im doing 24/24 i plan on putting a couple outdoors when they are bigger and keeping a couple indoors and seeing what comes out best. im in new england...what do you guys think?

heh wtf...the new light put off more heat than i thought and melted the glue that was holding up the light above my plants and it fell during the night...only 1 life was taken...with my luck it was the only female tho..hah...now all of them are in their own cups..

lol yea i just put it in there to show that i got it..its on the top now...the old one is in the firepit for hurting one of my children.

i got a new air duct set up..the fan sits on top or the box and it goes Fan-ductape-large doritos bag-ductape-cup-ductape small cheetos bag into the box :-D haha ill take pics later when im back home. they wont be in this set up for longer so they wont have to put up with me. 1/2 are going into a full size closet setup in 2 weeks...if they live that long with my brutality, and some are going outside..yet again in a couple weeks if they can stand my brutality..lalala peace

also id call that a fire hazard. seems like your hiding them from parents but its better to be safe and NOT have your house burnt down rather than have a good hiding spot.

I agree about the hiding, Mylar sheets aren't important. The more important thing here is you've got it tucked back in your closet, what appears to be cloths and whatnot on top.

I'd be very careful when running ANY electrical unit in an enclosed space. ( I fixed vacuums for 2 years so i know all about small appliance dangers and heat issues in small motors... That fan is a good idea, but i'll overheat in no time. either burn out or short out, possibley causing problems.

Just be careful, maybe see if you can approach it differently.

That light isn't going to cut it for long.

If the plants stop stretching, and eventually secondary growth begins, your light will need to be much stronger to penetrate the canopy.

As far as sex goes, how can you confirm anything at this stage?

Nice tape work on that fan in the 3rd pic. What do you have there? A fan blowing thru a bag?

Keep learning and just learn from your mistakes.

the plants only stretched from the 1st light i was using, which is gone. my friend looked at it and he previously grew plants he said he was about 90% sure it was female. idk ill try to get closer pics. Im still trying to find some fucking mylar...where the hell can i get it and how much is it? Ive gone over all the electrical and theres no bare wires, theres now a metal cone around the light. i got some miracle grow plant food(not the liquid), its like a tablespoon to a gallon or something, if you have used this what mixing ratio did you use?

imho quit and start again with better lights, you know you're doing something wrong when you need stick to hold up the plant, and you can't tell the sex until it starts to flower, unless you have fem seeds, so your mate is bullshitting you, I don't know much about the best plant foods, but I did see someone comment that miracle grow killed their plants once

I would not recomend miracle grow. It klled 9/10 of my plants. You might be facing alot of problems if you keep using mg. !st sign of problems from my view is tht your plants stop getting bigger and the tips of your leafs will get nute burns and curl up.....

I had this problem 2 weeks ago and leaned from it! my 1 plant still alive is...serviving...

I wouldnt think that you need plant food yet? Are you watering with tap water or mineral?
