Been using rockwool cubes for years for clones, moved from the hockey puck things to them as the rockwool was much better for cloning. Decided I would just give some RapidRooters a shot. Tried without the cup things and even then had success, but had to watch for drying.

Anyhow, my test stuff came out that every single RR, even if it got sorta dry, rooted in at least 1/2 the time of the rockwool. As I tore apart the rockwool, I was noting only the beginnings of rooting, yet at the same time I had 5-10 roots coming out of the RR. Since keeping them moist better I think they take in 1/3 the time of the rockwool and take much more vigorously.

For what that is worth. I am sold on them for sure. Use the holding tray stuff tho, it really helps.

I've thought about trying them. I pre-soak my rockwool plugs before I use them with a mild nutrient solution. RR has nutes for starting/rooting clones. I'm getting ready to clone a couple more small lower branches and use a dome on them to see if they will root quicker. I have just enough rootech to do two more. RW is cheaper too!!! :D

Heck I always keep them under a dome with humidity so high the roots that come out get all fuzzy and don't die.

I also used RW and pucks but after being told about the RR's, I had to try them.

They are absolutely great. I use them for clones and seedlings and they work good. I just stick the seed in a moist one with it pointed down and keep it nice and warm and the seedling is out in usually 24hrs or less.

rapid rooter also makes a "rapid mat" that fits perfect in a 1020 tray....98 cubes per mat....best value for rr's
