LST yield info and help

Very nice yields on LST I have seen, so here is a noob question. How much extra yeild do you think you get when using the LST instead of just letting it grow and topping it and how does it actually help the plant alot?

LST helps make an even canopy for your light(s), thereby reaching more buds to the light. How much that helps you will have to answer yourself.
