Any T5 or High Ouput T5 light fixture will work well for the 3-4 weeks of vegging.
6500k is the better/best? Kelvin temp for the bulbs....IMO.

I use a 2ft, 4 bulb HO T5 light fixture. 24 watts ea. 6500k bulb. I can veg 11 plants under this for 3 weeks. Then; it gets crowded...

Hey groovy, welcome to the forum :)

I use a 4-bulb T5 HO myself, similar to DPimps'. I can attest that the plants most definitely enjoy it. I can fit about 6 half-gallon circular pots under it just fine with plenty of room for 1.5 months' vegging (maximum).

Get an HID for flowering if you want massive, juicy medicine.

When deciding what lights to purchase you should weigh out the pro's and con's, just like everything else in life ;) . Weigh these in terms of cost (initial and maintenance), coverage (sq.ft.), profile (is it a big or small opert'n), growth style (scrog, lst, etc.), and spectrum (veg/flower).

Hope this helps!
