I am aware that some dispensaries produce their own medicine. However a lot of dispensaries have 3rd party growers who supply them with medicine.
That being said, I am wondering if these "3rd party growers" are required to be licensed, whether it be a "medical patient" licensee or another form of licensing.
As far as I know, anyone growing for a dispensary, if not the dispensary itself, is just classified as an illegal grower and prosecuted accordingly, if caught.
I know medical patients in some, if not all states are legally allowed to be "caregivers", which permits them to grow and sell medicine to other non-growing patients, given the non-growing "patients" are legally permitted to purchase the medicine. Are these "caregivers" allowed to supply the dispensaries themselves though?
My question is, can I legally grow for out-of-state medical marijuana dispensaries if I am not directly affiliated with the companies themselves, as long as I belong to and am licensed in a "medical marijuana" state? Or are these dispensaries hesitant in dealing with out-of-state suppliers for legal reasons I am unaware of?
I appreciate insight into the legality of how this works from state to state.
Thanks.
