Hello!

This is my first grow, and also my first post. So nice to meet you all! :)

Anyways, I made a video that explains the issues(and details) of the issues i'm having.

YouTube - 3 Week Cannabis Issues (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRmdYw35eT8&hd=1)

Things I forgot to mention: I am using non-pH tested tap water(I know, i'll get a tester at some point :(). The seeds being used are some random bagseeds.** Also, the soil i'm using has a 0.07-0.01-0.04 ratio of nutrients.

After looking at other people's progress after 2-3 weeks, I am almost positive that this is NOT growing properly! However, as I mentioned, I would greatly appreciate any tips that you could give me to improve. I currently have a few pots, a bag of perlite, all of the lights shown(7 26/27 watt CFLs), and i'm currently germinating more seeds to utilize all of the lights(and perhaps replace the plant that may possibly die).

Also, any tips on altering my lighting setup? Obviously i'm having issues with that as well, lol. And how many plants could I grow with those lights? I'm thinking only about 2 at a time.

** This is something I am not willing to change. My plan is to successfully grow a couple of smokeable plants before I spend money on seeds. Otherwise I take the risk of killing off a bunch of expensive seeds due to my lack of experience.

Thanks!

Welcome to the boards Adambomb, Great first post!
It looks to me that your over watering and because the medium your using has nute's already, there's no real need to add more. Especially since your plants still small yet.

Your watering correctly by having some runoff, but try only watering when the pot itself feels very light weight.
I over watered my 2 weeks old's recently, and let them dry out for 8 days before I re watered them. They look great now.

Great video Adambomb, that really helped. Good luck to you on your grow.

Nice Video...

To much water and Nutes, plus that soil is way to hot to start seedlings in...

Try starting them in Peat Pellets or Rapid Rooters with just PHed Water...

After they pop and get the first set of true leafs, transplant them into the Per-Nute soil...

That 10-10-10 Nute is also very hot, use with care...

Keep us posted...

Thanks so much, guys! I'm glad the video helped. I was debating making it at first, because I suspected people didn't want to sit through a video.

Incredibly helpful information. I will wait a week or so until I water again, testing the weight of the pot regularly. I'll also be sure to keep the fertilizer away. I'm glad to know that your plant recovered well, Rainhaze.

And your advice about starting off seedlings is definitely going to be coming into great use very soon, Zztops.

Again, thanks for the warm and helpful responses. A good welcome to the boards :D.

I'll definitely keep this updated. Heck, I might as well continue videos since I made a youtube account for the occasion. Additionally, I think keeping a video log will also help keep me motivated to continue growing. That and the lovely products of the growing, of course. ;)

Offtopic: I actually had the privilege of seeing ZZ Top live. I certainly respect your choice of username! :)

Update: I went out of town for a few days, came back and it was dead. :(

The leaves were extremely crusty, so maybe it got friend by the lights?

I went ahead and flooded the soil, added some perlite to it, and then stuck a germinated seed in there.

:( So sorry to hear that, especially after all you did to try and coax it along. Being it was sickly, maybe its a good thing, It might have grown to be stunted & yielded low.
But at least you gained some good info for your next attempt.
Persevere my friend, it will all be worthwhile eventually.

Bummer it died,....

I'd respond to your vid on youtube, but for privacy's sake, I wont.

Start your seedlings in a smaller container. I use 3" square containers, (.5L) for my MJ seedlings, and Petunia tray's (the little 6 pack tray's that petunia's come in) for starting my garden vegetables and hot peppers.

It's already been said, your soil, and the 10-10-10 fert is really hot, and shouldn't be used on a seedling.

Do a Google search for Fox Farms Ocean Forest,... there's some decent prices even after shipping online.

Probably the single most important thing I can say tho is, PH YOUR WATER!!!! That little plant looked like it was suffering.

Overwatered from being in too big of container, Over Fertilized from the hot soil and additional nutes, and locking out from PH not being correct.

The over water/ over feed can be corrected, but if the plant is locked up by bad PH, it's gonna end very badly. :(
