I heard something about them changing the new age law to 21 January 1st is this true?
If so will it effect those of us who are between 18-21 when we try to renew our license's every year?
Anyone who knows anything let me know.

I don't think anything changes 1/1 (could be wrong)

but I think they already made it more difficult for the under 21's.

how does that all work now?

Well i haven't heard anything about this either. How about you give us a link to the information you are talking about. Where did you hear this?

As far as I know, the only thing that was in discussion for a possible change was that patient under the age of 18 would have to be reviewed by a panel of docs. But I don't know if that passed. I've only met 1 patient so far under the age of 18 - they were/are 14 years old, going through chemo right now.

I heard this too. Some kid at school was telling me they are trying to make it so you have to be over 21 to enter a mmc. I'm pretty sure those under 21 have to get more than one doctor's recommendation if they want mmj and they have to be aware of all their options before making a final decision on how to medicate.

These new laws are discrimination on so many levels if you ask me. I don't like the idea you have to live here for 2 years to even work in a center. I undertand why owners have to live here for 2 yrs but everyday workers? Get the fuck outta here!!

And yet a doc can prescribe narcotics to someone under 18 or 21 and that patient can take that script to a pharmacy, and it's doesn't raise an eyebrow except to maybe verify identity ...

Its just been all of the people that i talk to on a daily basis in my community. Its just came up more then once or twice. I only heard one thing on cannabis common sense about it. ( The Hemp and Cannabis Foundation Sponsors a tv show )
Im under 18 only for 2 more months, and i have had all kinds of surgical procedures and been prescribed a list of crap... Been going on 4 years. I have been trying to get my license as a minor since around march of last year. That why i was curious about the age change. The doctors and numorous pain management doctors i have been to have been sceptic about the situation and they just keep busting out the pen and script pad. The only reason its hard for someone under 18 is because of the 2 doctors and parents. Parents would rather see their kids being able to do what the love and not be in pain or take handfuls of narcotics. Doctors just give you a pill for a side effect of a pill and if that doesnt work their is always a new medication out. All of the college kids and people who dont need mmj are just abusing the system and making those who actually need it look like dumb stoners. Thats not why the system was set up and thats not how it should be going down. I know atleast 5 people who have gotten it without records and only a one time visit. Its crazy what money will make people do. Hopefully they will tighten up the reigns on the registry but not to a point where the people who need it wont have access to it.
