hey i did my first grow and i harvested it 4 days ago and got maybe a quarter ounce of dry weed. not much haha it was growing in a park and i never touched it or looked after it it grew on its own. anyway its been 4 days and the buds are dry and i am about to cure them and as i was looking at the buds before putting them into the jar i realised one of them had a worm in it with some spider web looking stuff on the bud that was coming off of the worm. i took off the worm and spider webs n shit and put the bud into the jar. ( this bud smells really fucking citrus i cant believe it ) i live in australia and i was wondering what it is and if its ok to smoke if i got most of the web shit off of the buds. heres the photos of the worms-

It looks like a worm that builds a big cocoon like thing. Its big. They were everywhere when I was a kid, building these things in the crooks of trees. They're some kind of moth, and I can't remember :D their name. Gypsy moth or something like that. :smokin:

Those look like the regular kind of worms I get every year. They eat through the stems and kill fat buds and cause a lot of mold. I hate to keep touting Safer but there products are listed as omri organic and they have a specific product that will kill these worms. You have to spray as soon as you see the first worm and may to do some additional spraying.

In my crop in my yard (12 plants) I check for worms every day. If I find them I feed them to my chickens. At my property in the hills I never see any worms, spider mites or other pests. I occasionally see powder mold but that is rare in the mountains.

I'm stoned....:S2:. These caterpillars come out of these large nest-like cocoons, and then metamorph into the gypsy moth. If you see these nests/cocoons around, or something similar, that's where they are coming from. I'd like to know exactly what type it is.
