Hi All, is there anyone out there who's done a blackberry grow? I ordered seeds through visc seed company and although the plant is a beautiful lady, she's not showing any color! just mostly whites and greens, not the gorgeous purple's that the pics show when one google's or bing's "blackberry marijuana":( the plant has just started its 6th week flowering and is in a tent under 600 watts, its growing very nicely but no colors!!

night time temps are around 61-62 and days run right at 69-71, humidity is between 26-34% regularly, I'm not trying to rag on a plant that's so-far doing beautifully, but I specifically ordered blackberry for certain reasons, 1 reason was the exotic colors the strains supposed to develop! anyone know anything about this strain? thank you.

Might just be the genetics some phenotypes may not turn purple. Some wait till the last week or so of finishing to change also. Cooler night time temps and flushing will help. Out doors some plants that aren't bread for color will turn purple when temperatures get close to freezing. I think I would worry more about producing good medicine then the color of it. Take cuts and notes and give it a few runs. :)

Might be bad seeds because the Blackberry is supposed to show color throughout the entire flowering cycle. HIGHTIMES.COM > PURPLE POT (http://hightimes.com/grow/nebu/378)

"This brings us to the third and final degree of purpledom, the Blackberry. This rare phenotype exhibits a deep, dark purple bordering on black on all its calyxes (even nodal), under all circumstances except extreme high temperature, from the start of flowering through harvest. The Blackberry??s taste is as unique as its appearance, with scents all in the ??high-note? range; tip of the tongue, if you will. There are no earthy, musky tones at all, but rather, elements of violets and opium with a slight antiseptic note. Even the trichomes of the Blackberry are purple, which makes extracting bubble hash a rewarding process, as both the water and the hash end up purple. (photos Blackberry nugs, BlackBerry bubble hash, Blackberry bubble H2O) "

"Another factor that can cause purpling is nutrient deficiency, generally phosphorus. Although these stunted plants may bedazzle the novice, they are typically quite distinguishable from naturally occurring anthocyanin expression, due to the other visible adverse side effects of nutrient deficiency, such as leaf and bud malformation and low calyx-to-leaf ratios"
