From Ganjawise.com (http://ganjawise.com/?p=982)

I got a couple questions for the nation. Name a time that prohibition workedâ?¦.
NEVER HAS!

Name the first prohibitionâ?¦.
Ummâ?¦Alcoholâ?¦WRONG!

Prohibitionâ??s first failed attempt dates back to the beginning of human existence. The story of Adam and Eve (if your one of those that believe in this story).

In this story God creates Adam, later on creates Eve and puts them in the garden of Eden filled with all kinds of fruits and vegetables. God tells them that they can eat whatever they want, except for the succulent, juicy, ruby apples on the apple tree. As Eve gazed upon the tree while eating bananas or what ever the fuck. The devil slithered to her in the form of a snake. He told her that all Godâ??s knowledge was within those apples and he didnâ??t want to share them cause that would mean others would have access to the infinite knowledge God does. So of course Eve is convinced to eat the apple being the typical gullible female and then easily convinces Adam to join, him being the typical pussy-minded male. God sees this and is angered (how an all mighty God can have a human emotion such as anger is beyond me but, hey thatâ??s the story). He then kicks both there asses out of the garden of Eden. Now humans must shamefully walk the Earth, forever locked out of the sacred garden, for the rest of eternity (right).

Iâ??ve never heard of a instance in time, or in a story book, where restricting people from something will make them not want to do it. That just entices us. It itches our will to make decisions for ourselves and experiment. However you take the story of Adam and Eve it is a story that explains human nature. At one time Pinball were illegal in the United States. (http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/gadgets/toys/4328211-new) That just made it more popular. It probably would be as popular is it is today if it wasnâ??t illegal at one point. The same goes for pornâ?¦..well, maybe not.

But the United States seems to be a country that corrects itâ??s mistakes, once the power that be give in the the demand of the just people.

One more thing about the garden of Eden. Weed was definitely within those gates and God saw nothing wrong with that.

LOL I guess you're right, that is if you believe in the Bible, not sure about other people, the question is, what if the fruit was really Cannabis? And I seriously doubt it was an apple, unless you're catholic then I guess I'll never win this argument! xD

Prohibition in the US is big business generating billions. The government is in neck deep IMHO and wants to retain the status quo as long as possible. It isn't about whether it works, but how much money it generates. Same old, same old . . .

It's all about the money. The main problem being the plant competes with too many industries. Nothing to do with people getting high.
