Its up to the cook when to add or partake of medicine while making this Pennsylvania Dutch Style recipe. You have to like sauerkraut and it quite simple! :D

Take one package of pork chops, country style ribs, roast, or other pork cut and put into a large pot along with one large jar of sauerkraut and one jar of water. Bring to a boil, reduce to simmer for 3 hours, and put kraut over mashed potatoes when done. Then, after your done, smoke a big fatty. Really much better the second day after the chops absorbed the kraut juices and marinate them where they break apart with a fork.

Straight Out of the Chester County Cook Book!!!:rastasmoke:

Since the Amish are primarily in Lancaster County, I'd say it was from there. Like shoe-fly pie!!! Chester County has a nasty anti-pot DA. Time they got rid of Joe Carroll and his corrupt little star chamber grand jury system. :D
