The Columbian has an article this morning that there is this "Wash. Cannabis Assn." gaining members in WA......$100-$5000 membership fees?.....providing legislative lobbying in this state, and sounds like the goal is to standardize, qualify, quantify, and protect the consumer and delivery system in the state.
Not seen them mentioned here, and it also mentions a person that runs Green Hope Pt Network in Shoreline, I will not post the name here.
Anyone heard of this outfit?

Can't find a website, but there is also just recently formed a national version with strong California influence. The WA version is less...prolific so to speak.

I saw the article on toke of the town. I see Phillip Dawdy (sp) Sensible Washington is also a major in the new group. They don't say what you get for your $100 or $5K membership. I see it as extortion for protection. What happened to legalization? They lose their balls? What if you don't want to join? Seems to me its just a group trying to take over the whole movement. Not really surprising to me. Rather the make it free for all to use, they want to keep it restricted, and control the who, what, where. If that's the case.................. :twocents:

The money is supposed to be used to hire a lobbyist to help our cause in Olympia. They hired one last year and it helped but not enough to get anything passed.

Well the article says there are 100,000 medical marijuana patients in the state, if that doesn't speak louder then some political ass sucking lobbyist, its just more money being spend for bullshit. Its the legislators who need to be shown who really makes the rules. Its the job of elected officials to do the will of the people. Not use us as cash cows for the general fund after arrests, fines court costs, on and on. Trying to get everyone to go in one direction-forward-is like herding fucking cats. :twocents:

Damn right and I would like to know them, maybe be one of them someday if it ever becomes what I consider a safe market to participate in. Too much ambiguity in all this still.
BUT....In the last 10 years we have come a long way baby.

I've heard various things - none of which I'm comfortable reporting because it's all hearsay - but it's enough to make me pretty wary of it all.
