when to harvest

Sure you can harvest then. You would have gotten more Trichomes and better smoke over all if you use a 30x magnifying glass to view the trichomes. The pistils are supposed to die off and dry up after they can no longer collect Pollen. The color change to red or orange is as much genetics as it is environmental. Cooler temperatures will produce more color.

The Trichomes are ready to harvest then more them 80% are cloudy. If you wait until they turn amber it's to late. The THC has started to degrade in quality. The THC will look like a golf ball sitting on a "T"

If you can see the individual Trichomes with a 10x then you know what to look for. If you can't see the color and texture of the trichomes then you need to get a 30x from eBay. They only cost about 20 bucks or so.
