Quick question about the metabolism of THC. If you smoke 3-5 times a week, and quit for two weeks solid you might/ might not be clean. Assuming you weren't clean, and you smoke two nights in a row, does the process start back at day 0. Meaning were the two weeks a waste, or did you just add a little bit of time (a week) to the detox process?

Yes, one night of toking resets or spikes the readings all over again, gotta start from scratch again.

Damnit. I gave it up for two weeks for nothing. Uggh.

Sorry for the double post, but can somebody explain how this works?

How does a one time toke spike THC levels back to the original point?

It doesn't, but will for sure extend the amount of time it will take to test clean...

Thanks. I know that additional smoking will increase the amount of time. I was thinking that those 2 nights probably added about week to the detox time.

I don't have a test until after Christmas, so I don't think I risked anything; I just want to have all my bases covered.

My question is, once I test clean...say with a home kit, am I clean for good until I smoke again? Like, you think their is some extra THC hiding in my system somewhere?

Yes, once you test clean with the first urination of the day, you will be clean until test time.

I have a similar question to mutedfusion's question.

I took a lab test on December 10 after failing a home test the previous day. The lab results showed I was passing. Just to be sure I took a home test kit on December 18 (2nd piss of the day), and passed it, but the line was a bit more faint than I had hoped. I took my drug test for real on December 23. Because they were closed for Christmas Eve, I won't know till Monday or Tuesday.

Would it be possible to fail the test after first testing clean 13 days prior to the real test? After being clean for 30 days.

People worry way too much.

The vast majority of people should piss clean after 3 weeks, regardless of how much/often they smoked.

Its not uncommon for longtime heavy users to take longer (much longer) than 3 weeks to finally test negative. Theres actually a report of a longtime heavy user that took 105 days. Of course this person weighed on on the wrong side of 375 lbs and indulged in zero physical activity.

This is why posted "timetables" are not a viable source to rely upon and one should periodically test themselves with a THC test kit to get an idea how long s/he can get clean.

But is it possible to test positive 13 days after originally testing negative. No dilution was done for the negative test. I know I am probably worrying for nothing...

Yea, if you got high again. If not, I see no reason why you would test positive 13 days after testing negative. Did you test positive the second time?

Lol, I haven't smoked since then. I was in a room on two occasions with someone smoking, but it was a well ventilaed living room. I even passed a home test two days after being exposed to smoke. I am just completely nervous about this...I have never had to pass drug test since I started toking.

You'll be just fine. Its almost impossible to get THCA into your system from second hand smoke. THCA sticks to the inner workings of your respiratory system and lungs when inhaled, so very little is the the second hand smoke that is exhaled.

Well I think I should be good. I took the test last Wednesday and I haven't heard anything yet. Don't they usually call you to ask if you're on any prescription meds if you're piss is flagged as positive?
