A Noob, CFLs, A closet and 2 seed Grow log

Recently got my medical card due to severe lower back pain from an auto accident so I decided to start a 1st grow. Did weeks of research before attempting this. This is a closet grow that is approximately 6 square feet. Using 10 CFL's. Mixed spectrum and doing 18/6. I started with 1 white widow seed and 1 afghan. The seeds sprouted using the wet paper towel method within 24 hours each. Transplanted them into 16oz solo cups using FF soil. Unfortnately I didnt get any pictures until day 10 onward.

Due to an insane amount of continued growth I had to go from 2 gallon to 5 gallon buckets in 7 days. As you can see below the afghans root growth in 7 days from a 16 oz solo cup to a 2 gallon container:

Well the Afghan did not like the nutes at all and started to Ram Horn the leaves so I had to do a flush. However, the white widow loves it. Still doing very well. The white widow is now 18 inches tall and on its 10th node. The afghan is much smaller being a pure indica but doing much better after the moodiness of nutes. I had to trim a couple fan leafs from the middle of the afghan due to the damaged leafs but its back to being very happy now.

Nice healthy looking plants cant believe there only 30 days in veg good work.
A quick question if you dont mind are you using cfl,s for your light or leaving the plants by the window like in your photo on day 30. Thanks;)

I just took them out of the closet to take pictures. I thought about putting them in the sunlight for a few hours a day at the back sliding door, but that wouldn't be wise with a nosey gardener and pool guy!

Well the girls are 37 days old into week 5 of veg. I am still debating how much longer I want to veg before flowering. They have BOTH grown FOUR inches taller in the last week. This may sound odd but when I look real close at both, they are telling me they want to flower. Perhaps 1 more week vegging.

There looking real good bro nice and healthy. People say the right time to start flowering is after the 45 day of veg or around that time but to me they look good enough to start now if you want. I had 8 bagseed that i started them when they were only 3 weeks old and now i have 4 healthy females. Any way what ever you end up doing they should turn great.:hippy:

Well today is day 45 and I put my 2 plants into flower 7 days ago. Unfortunately the Afghan dropped a set of balls a couple days ago. However, the White Widow IS a female. Since my last post 7 days ago, she has grown an incredible 14 inches! Now 36 inches tall. A picture perfect specimen of a marijuana plant. Very strong genetics!

Wow GTD... I am inspired. She is looking very impressive! I hope that at least one of the 4 white widows I have just planted looks at least that good. I'm tempted to take your pictures in to show to my girls... I think they might need the motivation! :thumbsup:

Wow 3 ft going in to flower...you are gona have a MONSTER. Looks healthy, still have 10 cfl's? Have you thought about adding more? Sry bout your afghan.

Actullay I did take 2 clones!! As for CFL's, that is only for vegging. I have a 400w sodium HID in a seperate room I am flowering in.

Well the white widow became a redwood since I put it into flowering 4 weeks ago. I had to break it over since it was just getting waaaaaay too tall. Pinching the top hasn't slowed it down one bit. Here are a couple pictures of the main cola and a cola from one of the side shots. I have at least 10 buds that will be harvestable.
