Hello everyone,

First of all i apologize for my English.

I ve been following the forum for two years, i learned a lot in this time and i had 4 experimental grows. I didn't log them here but i will add some pictures of my old grows for you to see.

This is my first grow with grow log and with some other things such as brand seeds, soils etc. Hope we'll see the difference on growth with this log.

Here we go

Grow room: A small storage room without windows.
Grow area: W50cm x L60cm x H 200cm (for length additional 50cm is available. But will be needed extra light). Covered with black&white folio.
Lamps & Housing: 50cm x 60cm. 4x T8 and 6x e27 socket. and some good reflector folio under them. Total 200-250W planning.
Room Ventilation: 1 x intake bottom of the door and 2 x outtake top of the door.
Plant Ventilation: Intake: 2x 8cm silent pc fan (runs 24h), 1x 14cm case fan (runs with the lamps) Outtake: 1x 14cm case fan (runs with the lamps.)
Other Equipments: In/Out Thermometer & Hygrometer. Classical Music playing radio.
Water: 1:1 tap water:deionized water mix.
Soil: Green Label Totall Mix and peat, perlit, cocos, sand mix.
Nutrients: Hesi Soil TNT complex, Root complex, bloom complex, supervit, power zyme. Plagron Terra Grow, Terra Bloom, Alga-grow, Alga-bloom. Green Label Bio Booster. Aptus Bio final.

Grows will be in two group:
2 x Critical+ (Dinafem)
X x Bag seeds

I am not an advanced user of those brand seeds, nutrients and soil. I just get them from a festival for free. We'll see what happens.

Shopping List: PH meter, EC meter, reflector material, floro tubes, 25x25xXX pots. (XX: as long as possible)

I am planning to have 4 big pots in the area. 2x critical+ and 2x bag seed (or more if they can live together in one pot. I did before and it was ok). Since the bag seeds are old and have about %50 germination rate + %50 male rate, i planted 12 bagseeds in 3 parts.
First part planted at 19th of November and 4 of them showed up at 22nd.
Second part planted at 24th with 2 x critical+ seeds and first plant (bag seed) from this part came today (27th).
3rd part planted at 25th.
Now i have 5 plants showed up. Each under a cfl bulb. Two of them sharing 33W 6500k. 3 are seperately under 24W 6400k. All sharing 2xT8 18W 2700k and 6500k tubes.
141W in total and approx. 8250 lm.

Thermometer itself is on the surface where the pots are and I attached outdoor clip up, near the lamps so i am able the major highest and lowest temps in the area.
As result: near lamps (where there top of the plants) is around 26-28.5C , near surface is around 24-26.5C, Humidity is %30-40 Daytime. At night 20-22C and %40> humid.

I couldn't attach pictures. Let the log begin first, then we'll figure it out:)

I uploaded some pictures:

http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j369/tevfire/grolog/IMG_3899.jpg http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j369/tevfire/grolog/IMG_3900.jpg

Well, now i noticed. Those two fluorescents and 2 cfl's on the left are not on yet. They will be when all the seeds are up.

Also I will upload my previous grows as well. I didn't notice there were thumbnails. So this time they are in small size. Next time they will be larger.

Here i wil share my old growing pictures and some details. Since they're history there might be some missing information about details. I'll write as i remember. So, don't take it as a guide. Just look at the pictures and have fun.

My fist grow. Used standart plant soil from supermarket with tapwater and after a month or two added NPK granules.
1,2. Started near the window with 100w incandescent spot, a week later changed with 33W CFL in a parabolic reflector. 24h light. (There is one week between first two pictures.)
3. 5 days later i built a cabinet, placed 2 cfl lamps horizontally. Only 3 plants left, rest were males. On sunny days they were getting sunlight.
4. 2 weeks later there were 2 females only.
5. Added more lamps. Intake fans. I don't remember but i switched to 18 hours of light i guess. After a while went to flowering.
6. Near the end. 3 months old. other female was very small but same flowering.

My second grow was better. Same soil and watering schedule. Started with more lamps. Intake fans. Got some organic nutrients.

1. The beginning with 5 plants. After a while 4 turned to male. planted more.
2. 1 female repotted, new generation is behind. Single female feed with NPK granules. Others are getting organic. Because of this organic pieces i got some flies i believe. I am still fighting with them even now.
3-4. 1 small female came out from organics. Was very healthy but in the end it burned out from over watering...
5. The older sister. Harvested in success.

Third grow was the best of all with a little failure. I will upload those photos if anybody wants to see. Now chillin' a bit.

Third grow was the best of all with a little failure. I will upload those photos if anybody wants to see.

I decided to finish the history before anyone else writes a reply, so they'll be together in the very first page.
Here i'll go on with 3rd grow history.

This time started with better room setup. Lamps are stabilized. Added fans for each lamps. This fans are sharing the power adapter so they don't run with full power because of the noise they're making. Since there is heat from the bulbs fans turned out that many. Bag seeds planted in small pots with random supermarket soil and after a week all re-potted to the middle size.
1- 2nd week. of vegging. Added some nutrient granules to new pots.
2- 3rd week. Females (two on the back) potted to large pots. Two small still waiting for the sex confirmation.
3,4- The long female bended at the end of 3rd week coz it was already touching the bulbs. Other female is just fine
5,6- End of vegging stage. 5th week.
7- 2nd week of flowering.
8- 3rd week.
9- 4th week.
10,11,12,13- 6th week.
14,15,16- 7th week. Some problems occurred. Flushed.
17,18- 9th week of flowering stage. Problems got worse. Before this week when they were healthier topped buds from the LST lady. After this week all harvested.

End of the day one Critical+ and one more bag showed up from the second part of planting. I started giving numbers by age. 1,2,3,4 from the first part. 5 is bag seed from the second part. Sprout out this morning. 6 is the critical+. For an easy recognition i gave the number "6+" Sprouting out by now. 7 is the bag seed from the second part. also sprouting out by now.

To know them better here detailed soil info for each.
All 4 from the first part uses standard substrate mixed with peat 1:1. Pressed hardly. Added sand on top for keeping the soil wet.
From the second part, only Critical+'s using Green Label Totall Mix. Not pressed, just filled as it is and lightly compacted. More info about the soil:
Structure fine, moisture content 60, water capacity 6, air capacity %10
pH H2O 6,2 (+/-0,5) EC 1:1,5 1,2 (+/-0,4) Organic matter of the dry substance 75 Nutrition level High Wok 85 Weight 20
On the pack it says the fertilizer (N.P.K. + trace elements) supplies from one to three weeks depends on size etc. There is no more info about nutrients.

Bag seeds from the second part is using standard substrate: peat:totall mix: perlite approx. 3:3:3:1
For the third part i used peat moss:standard substrate:totall mix: perlite:sand approx. 4:3:2:1:1 ratio.

Watering all with 1:1 tap water:deionized water mix. added half amount of dosage tnt complex (http://www.hesi.nl/usa/popups/tnttekst.htm), root complex (http://www.hesi.nl/usa/popups/worteltekst.htm), supervit (http://www.hesi.nl/usa/popups/supervittekst.htm). I had to make 5 liters of mix to apply right amount of dosage. Watering with this water when the soil getting dryer. aprox. 2 times in 3 days. About 50ml per plant.

Questions
-I have about 9 liters of this totallmix substrate but it looks smaller than that. Should i make it fluffy like a feather pillows before putting into pot?
-I will make a mix (random substrate, peat, coco peat, perlite, and some other things on advice), use for all or use as it is for one or two plants only. Any suggestions on this?
- Is the water ok? What do you think about it?
-They all are in the picture. 2 and 4 looks a bit droppy and they have very dark color in the middle like red/brown. Why is that?

Prolly a good idea to use a "try me" on one or two plants only.

Impressive documenting!

Thanks Weezard.
Now i realized i might be misunderstood. First two questions were connected. Somehow it ended up in the document like that.
"I will make a mix and add the totallmix in it or use that totallmix as it is." this what i meant actually. There will be other mix without it anyway. And using it as it is for one or two sounds much better. Since i used it for critical+'s i'm thinking to keep going with it to medium size pots and go to final size with some lighter substrate mix(will be decided later). Maybe this is too early to talk about. I'll re pot about a week or two weeks later but anyway talking is good, at least soon i will be able to attach photos here. Much comfortable :)

Second critical+ germinated. Took the number 9+
I think this amount is enough for the final light setup. Tomorrow i will run other lamps and set all the area for them nicely.
I made a graphic for the light fixture. Green numbers are the plants. White lamps are 6500k. Yellow are 2700k. There are two variants i am thinking on now. Either warm fluorescents are in the middle or sides. In the end there will be 181W 6500k and 36W 2700k(%16.5). Or should i switch all the fluorescents to 2700k? By doing that there will be 145W 6500 and 72W 2700 which makes the ratio of warm light %33
Any suggestions on this?

For now only option is the radio and no other good choices on channels than classic music. I also read jazz will help better than all.
I maybe make a little homework on this.

Today i switched on rest of the lights, and the temp is on highest value. 26,5C is the surface and 30C on top of the plants (80 & 86 F). %50 humid.
For humidity i covered the area with water trays. Before that it was around %30.

Temp will be lower (1-2 degree) when the pot levels are low. Now its just pots are blocking half of the air from fans.
Which is better? Stretched plants or one or two degrees lower temp?

tevfik

I gave them water 10 to 20ml. based on their humid level. Looks like from now on watering will be everyday by this amount of water.
When the rooms door is closed, temps are 27 & 31 C (80 & 88 F) +-1C When its open, 25 & 28 C +-1C. I kept it open as much as i can.
There are 5 cm diameter air holes on the door. 4 top and 4 bottom. I made 2 fanbox to be able to transfer air for every holes. I was working on this project very long. I tried every possibility. 5 cm axial fans directly on holes were weak and were making lot of noise. 8 cm computer fans with built box were quieter but they weren't so strong to push all the air on one direction. Also tried some other variants of axial fans. Either too noisy or weak.
Since then I'm using centrifugal fans, they are silent and strong to push the air. Specially when its needed to push. No air leak. I'm good with outtakes, but I'm planning to fix additional computer fans for the intake box to see if they make any better.

Second week started for the 1st gen.
2nd gen. developing their first true leaves.
Two from the 3rd gen. germinating. They'll catch up soon.

I checked fanboxes and there were sings for changes from previous tests. This mean i already tried different variations on this box. Just don't remember. This must be the best for them so i didn't make any changes.
I lowered the place where they'r growing and made the pots a little lower than before, turned big fans angle more to lamps. By doing all I managed to set general temprature to 26C (79F). Humidity is around %30-40.

1st gen. started their 3rd leafsets and tiny side stems are visible. Their roots coming out from the holes.
2 from 3.rd gen. germinated. There are 14 in total. But latest seedlings seemed little problems to me. 2 of them still trying to get up to surface for two days. Looks like they failed. Wait and see.

I'll mix water without TNTComplex (N:P:K 3:2:3) for this week. There is also PowerZyme, I'm going to give once today, or tomorrow to 1st and 2nd gens.

Now %33 warm white in the area. I changed all the tubes for 2700k and taped folio like here: Can I use foil on my florescents? (http://cannabis.com/growing/lighting-How_can_i_use_foil_on_my_fluorescents.html). They look shiny now :D

Changed water to only deionized water with 0.7 dosage of Root Complex and normal dosage of Supervit.
For once added PowerZyme and watered 20 to 30 ml per plant. I'll use this PowerZyme weekly.

1st gen developing well enough. Their second set of leafs are already with 5 corners. Tiny side stems are more visible.
2nd gen is developing very healty.
3rd gen just too young yet.

First four had droopy leafs since three days. Yesterday i checked and soil was dry even at bottom. I watered. Water was not going, just staying on top. So today i decided to re-pot. I saw their roots were all around and too wet. Because of pressed soil, water wasn't going equally in the soil. It was all at the sides, and that over watered the plants i believe.
I used 11x11x12 cm pots.
For 1 and 2 I mixed 1:1:1 peat:coco:universal substrat and a little of perlit, sand. For 3 and 4 the ratio was 2:3:1.
They'll stay there until sexing.

There are no more seeds under the soil anymore. All germinated at this point.
I learned, my bagseeds have %100 germination rate if selected by looking at their size and color. Those failed at very beginning were different than usual looking. So that was the reason.
Now there are too many plants i have. I can't handle myself if comes out more than 5-6 female. Will figure it out somehow.

Olders are still trying to get back to normal. Their soil is still wet. No watering for them at least for 2 more days it seems.
Second generation is doing pretty good. Coz of soil or no nutrient water or both. 8 is very tiny. I like that.
Third generation looks good with their very mixed soils.
They live all together in their habitat except re-potted olders.

Today i repotted 2nd gen. For 6+ and 9+ used Totallmix. For the rest used 1:1:1:1 totallmix: peat: perlit: universal substrate.
I just went to 12x12cm pots. I invented an easy technique to keep the plant clear and for fast repotting. Helped a lot for this size of pot.
First add a bit soil to bottom. Put same size of small pot inside. Fill around with soil, press a little (Making the soil humid before work will make easier). Take out the small pot. Put the plant in. Thats it.
[attachment=o260494][attachment=o260495][attachment=o260496][attachment=o260497]

First gen. roots were already sticking out from holes. I added a bit soil at bottom of their pots. I don't think they'll stay there until sexing. We'll wait and see.

And here is general view.

I recently bought 15x15x20cm (3.6 liter) pots for their second home. First repotting doesn't count, that was temporary :) First group couldn't stand in them anyway. Second group didn't show their roots yet but they would come in two days.
Here are the pictures.
[attachment=o260732] [attachment=o260731]
First and second group in their new medium size pots. They'll stay there until flowering period. And there is no more enough space for 3rd group.
For that I also bought 36w PLL's to make new light fixture. They didn't have sockets for bulbs in stock, so i ordered online. Waiting them to arrive, then I'll set the lights.
And have reflector folio to cover the area. All be done this week if sockets arrive.

By the way, 6+ and 9+ already started smelling. Today i was in the room for long time and smell of grass was coming bit by bit. On their website saying "beware of smell". I didn't think this much. Soon i'll need neutralizer for sure. Now i realized why did they give those seeds for free...

I've been working for all day in the room. Yesterday i was thinking about sockets then found out wire connectors can be used as sockets for PLL's. I thought myself very clever, then during the research about wire connections i saw someone else already did the same. Whatever, i was so happy to found that way, because online shop was too lazy to send my order. I simply canceled. Yesterday evening i satarted working on new setup, end of today i finished. There is still something to do, but i am tired already. Tomorrow will complete the small things left.
Also yesterday i trained number 1. It was the longest, and i had similar strain on my previous growth. I know they're going tall, so earlier i applied LST.
[attachment=o260846]

And here are the details from new setup. 3x36w 6400k, 1x36w 2700k, 1x26w 2700k. I had this 26w plugin type CFL previously. Decided to use now. 13400lm on 4.2 square foot area. 3200lm per square foot right now. On flowering cycle i'll add some more.
I fixed all the tubes with a flexible wire, so i'll be able to adjust them separately by plants size. Also , complete light fixture and pots stand are height-adjustable as well.
[attachment=o260848] [attachment=o260847]
Yes i saw the connection isn't fixed well, i am going to fix it when the ligths are off. Because of the "cold start" ballast i bought, i can switch on/off only 3 times a day. Otherwise it will shorten the bulbs life.

Since i have a very small room it was in total mess during the work. On final steps, an accident happened and number7 lost two leaves. I checked and stem on the side looked fine. Hope the stem can grow well without its fan leave. And 6+ lightly injured from the leave.
[attachment=o260849] [attachment=o260850]

I transplanted 3rd generation to 15x15x15cm pots. In last four unnumbered seedlings there is one mutant, very big and dark seedling. The reason i believe, seed was in the soil for too long and always got water, whatever left from the others. Totally mix with all kind of water i used and that collected all the nutrients and other elements in the pot. Finally cracked and absorbed all, then become a mutant (Officially number 15). There are three more like that mutant but they're small. 16 self topped by the same conditions, now two stems growing from top. 17 and 18 has very thin and long first true leaves.

In the end i am very much relaxed, this is done. All the plants are happy to share same amount of light now.

I'll attach missing pictures tomorrow...

So, where were we?
Today i set small pc fans to the right side. Yesterday only one big side fan was working. Two tubes was very cool coz of the fan. Right two tubes were untouchable (well... touchable actually, but for couple of seconds only). After i set the fans all the tubes (except for 26w) were cool. That 26w 2 pin CFL and it's ballast. They re getting very hot like any other CFL's. Now efficiency of that PLL lights are much more clear for me. In flowering period i was thinking to use my old CFL's, but this PLL's just took me from me. Now i want to buy two more 36w and I want some special ones for plants instead of 2700k. We'll see about that.
But PH meter and EC meter is more important than lamps at the moment. I have $50 budget for them and i'll order online with PayPal. So i want to get some advice from you fellas. I checked on Ebay and they start around $20 each (Includes shipping). These are the cheapest. Should i trust them or is there any specific features must have on? Its really hard to decide by myself and goods from US are ok but shipping is too high. Preferably from Hong Kong or any other low shipping options will be good.

Yes, i know, you all feed up enough already with lamps and fans and things like that. Alright, lets get back to the room and see whats going on in there.

Here is the general view of final setup (final for now...)
[attachment=o260914]

Tomorrow fourth week will be started for the first generation. Well, since they had bad conditions about the soil, they don't look much 3 weeks old.

5 is showing preflowers. Couldn't take a good picture of it, tomorrow will be much more clear though.
Seemed male to me. Who's agree with me?
[attachment=o260927]

Criticals (6+ and 9+) are going crazy. They didn't stretch as i expected, i was planning LST on them but since i have good light setup, can go like this i think. We'll see about that end of this week. If they strech enough i'll tie them down. At least one of them to see the effects. They're smelling much. Now the room smells almost same as my old grows 3rd months.
6+[attachment=o260920] 9+[attachment=o260926]

7 and 8 are also good. 7 seems ok after the accident. Didn't effected much, so grows well.

Well, since my last post i didn't get any feedback about the meters. I don't have much time these days, to research about them. Think the best is "Do it yourself or go without."Today i watered all except for some from the 3.rd gen.

Today was feeding day for all.
With first group i went with tap water and standart dosage of Hesi's TNT Complex, Root Complex and Powerzyme. I'll stick on this Hesi for the first generation only. Hesi isn't organic.

For the second group i started Plagron Alga Grow, recommended dosage in 1:1 Deionized:Tap water. Alga concept is for use weekly. I choose Alga for them because its organic + soil is also Plagron.

Third group was wet enough, they didn't get any. Only mutants got Hesi's Root Complex with tap water. But 15 also got Alga Grow.

Here are the mutants.
15 is standing in 15x15x15cm pot. Just compare the leafs length with 14, standing next to 15. I put 2 cm sand on top, to see how much it will help to top roots.
Others are still in their seedlings pot. Some algs growing in their pots. Well, i have not much to say about them. Just have a look...

Today 5 showed his sex clearly.

I'd load him up and I'd haul him away, And I'd shave him and dump him all naked and bare. He learned to live with it, he didn't care...

For test purposes I'll keep him there for a couple of days to see what happens when you cut off upper fan leaves to show more light to the lower branches. They were 3rd and 4th true leaves and as you see there are 9 petals (finger, point... whatever their name). This is very common thing i know but it is much more common to me. I Always have them even eleven. Right now other plants are also have 9 like this. Almost half of my plants produce these leaves. I was wondering what exactly causing to this?

There are more flowers from the others. 1,7,8. Not clear much, here i could took only 8. In couple of days they'll clearly tell.

Today i saw sockets in a shop for my bulbs and bought 6 of them. Now I'm going to buy one big reflector from growshop (40x50cm), then make a good looking, more stable, more effective and much safer light fixture. I am also going to hang them with thin chains. So there are couple of shops i should go. Lets see what will come out after all.

Growing is just going fine but some exceptions.
There are no news for the first group. They look fine. I'm expecting one more male from there.
[attachment=o261148]

Good news from second. 6+ is the biggest in the room.

Yesterday a watered them lightly early morning with deionized water.
Today I transplanted 3 of them to their final size pots. 6+, se7en and 9+
[attachment=o261303]
All used Plagron light mix. New pots (Final size) are 23x23x26 cm. On monday I'll bring more soil and put the rest females in bigger pots. During the process also i saw pistils on number 2, now only two females are in medium size. 2 is very small compared to the others, and she has some problems from the beginning. We'll see in couple of days. Right now if i count criticals too, there are 5 females already.
Criticals managed to have stems from under the cotyledons. 6+ also has something coming out from the bottom of second stem. Is this hermie thing or another stem coming out from there?

I repotted one more female. That was 14. Will find a name soon. No more big pot left. 15 was male.
Feed all with 4/3 dosage Alga Grow. This is the last grow feed. Next week i am switching to flower stage.

I changed light fixture (no more hanging wires) and added 4x23WCFL (2x 2500k, 2x2700k) on the small pots temporarily. I used all red, coz my blue CFL bulbs were already used much and not bright anymore. One more ballast on the way, when arrives i'll remove CFLs and add 2x36w PLL, then to flower...

Marry Christmas to all.

Today I watered them with 2 days sitting tap water. I majored PH level of tap water and it is almost equal as deionized water. I used color solution to do it so i can't tell clearly but nearly.

13 had pistils. Rest of all unconfirmed were males. (Except 17 and 18. 17 is still very small, just staying at the corner. 18 same as before, no leafs, no head. I don't count these two mutants.) 13 had short pot, I transferred her to a longer pot. Now same as nr2. I also bended nr2 down once, because there are no side branches coming. Now i have two groups. 2 in small pots and 5 in big pots.

Criticals stretching more, 9+ is now longer than everyone else. 35 cm. Their side branches almost reached the tops.

Here are some photos. Hi-res this time. se7en, 9+, and a top view. It's hard to take pictures one by one now. When going to flower I'll picture all.

6+ 13.7" (35cm), 7 9.5" (24cm), 9+ 16.5" (42cm), 14 6" (16cm) and 8 7" (18cm).

I majored number9, 56cm now. Stretched about 17cm in a week. And 6+ stretched little more than that. Now this two is about same height and drinking like a horse. End of the day they'll be kissing the bulbs again. I had to re-arrange things.
I didn't expected they would grow that big. Five of them not fitting in the cabinet right now. I'm thinking to give away or take away one of them 8 or 14. Or both. That will make things easier for me. Two big are in single line and two small at the corner or only three in a single line. Sounds good.
I may come up with another solution. Take away from the cabinet, get a single bulb over it and leave like that. Time will tell.

Wednesday i feed them. Full dosage for criticals and half for the others. I used 1:1 tap:rain water. Tapwater PH was 7.4, i mixed it with melted snow to make little lower. After nutrients PH 8.4 , PPM 1350 for full dosage and 400 for half dosage.
Just 24 hours later on Thursday I got soil PH and it was around 6.3-6.7 for all the pots.
Criticals already drunk all in the soil and soil was dry just like before watering. I gave 2.5 liter tap water to criticals each. In two days they got 5 liters of water each. Looks like they'll need more water and more often than the other three. We'll see.

I took out 8 and 14 from the cabinet for two reason. First to give more space for big ones. second, they were standing under 9's leaves without any light and their leaves are all light green. Now I put a single 26w bulb over them. I'll wait a couple of days to see if they do any better there. Then I'll decide either give more light or just give up.
I broke one small stem from 8 and probably broke the main cola during the work. I was trying to give more LST to her.

Here they are

We're all happy now.
Yesterday I was little hopeless about 8 but looks like didn't hurt much from the damage, still could raise the head to the light. That motivated me and I made a simple 88W room for 8 and 14 with one pc fan intake/circular, under the table in growroom.
They look better than yesterday, hope they like it.
[attachment=o263255][attachment=o263256]

It turned out, 6+ and 9+ weren't praying only, they were stretching a lot in a single day and night. The picture previous post just before dark period. When the lights were on, I found 9+ was kissing the reflectors. They grow in dark huh?
I applied a very simple LST on 6 and 9 to make all the heads in a proper line. I took the picture with light fixtures old position to show how much distance saved.

Things are going well. 6+ and 9+ dried their soil again. I'll water them in couple of hours with half dosage bloom again. And their heads were already up, i tied a second rope right away. I'll not tie anymore and let them go like this to the end. Now most of the heads are in same level. Others trying to catch.
I put 7's pot 10cm up. I like her leaves. Thin and long.
8 and 14 also good. Now they look better than before. They are happy in there.

Buds are developing good. I saw some trichomes on 6+ and 9+.
20th day of flowering and this is the first day of trichomes (Well, I just saw, maybe it was earlier).

And here is a Bud Romantic. Enjoy :D

Today I feed them again. PPM 1350 and approximately 5 liter each for 6+ and 9+. PPM 900 2.5l each for 7. Same PPM 900 and 1-1.5l for 8 and 14.
Ingoing PH was 8.4 again and runoff 6.5

There is a black magic on 8. At night 2 of the bulbs on her side, fell on to her. That was a quick job, didn't hold well. Luckily bulbs didn't broke. Unluckily 3 cola from stems burned out and some of them also crushed because of the bulbs. No way to cure them, I pulled them off. Also one more head burned a little but not so serious, can be alright. This is the second accident on her in two days. Maybe some secret forces don't want me to go on with her. Actually that could be good, there can be more space and light for 14 and she's developing good. But I don't want to give up from 8. At least for now. We see if the broken colas from LST doesn't get better, I'll decide on. There also backups on windowsill in case.
Sad anyway.

Now, some updates.
I got my natural spectrum bulbs today finally. I've been waiting for three weeks already. But one of them was broken, tomorrow I'll return and got a new one for next week if I'm lucky.
I bought 4 of them but one broken. Now I'm using 3x865 and 3x076. They look more red/pink than 827 bulbs. Leaves now look reddish under those.
Here is a picture. In the middle nature, right 6500k, left 2500k. See the difference. Hope to see on production too.
[attachment=o263537]
I tried to make some kind of burn protection with wires, for keeping the light distance in minimum, but needs more wire, I just gave up and removed. This I was trying to protect the big leaves who prays every evening (their evening). Looks like bending down didn't help much, I couldn't lower the light distance.

Budding from everywhere. First two pictures from the main stem. You see the flowering from right next to pre-flowers. Last picture is from a side stem. Also having flowers like that. There are more developing like this. I don't know if this is a normal thing or not.

Congrats to me, 6+ hermied. I don't know why but I have some ideas. Those flowers are on one side only and most of them I found on her was where the leaves were not covered (Under the outtake fan in the middle). This mean, in daytime when I enter the room those leaves getting light for less than a minute. Light is only coming from outside, from the open door, not strong. I do it couple of times in a day. Can this be the reason?

Now I am also thinking maybe 9+ also trying to get some balls but whenever she tries female hormones are winning and getting buds there??

I need feedback for this: I was just hoping to get some polens to pollinate each one of my plants (6,7,9) to get some seeds. I need to clean this mess before they spread all over.
Q1: I'll just leave one or two balls I think that's enough right?
Q2: How long it takes for them to sack pollens?
Q3: Should I cover them with some plastic like food covers or sth like that near the end to prevent pollen sacks all over?

Hey Weezard, do you have anything to do with this hermie situation? I'm very suspicious. I didn't notice them yesterday, maybe they weren't exist yet. I just read your post and you were talking about breeding. I was going to say "I don't have pollen" to you (I even wrote the post and preview but I couldn't send).

I might ask you the same thing.:)

Saw a flash of yellow in my BB cross this morning so I got out the glass.

Nutz!:(

On close inspection, there were "nanners" creeping out 'tween da pretty red hairs.
Just a few, but it only takes a few.
It usually takes at least 7 days from the first show for the Stamens to mature and drop pollen.
Got clones of dis gal and don't need more seed.
Not to mention the chance of ruining the horseflower buds.

Buds were too fat an' sassy to comb through so I jus' bit da bullet and chopped her on day 70 with mostly cloudy trichs.
Gonna be some "uppity" meds.

Ah well!
Mo' betta early dan not at all, yah?:)

I'd advise caution with the hermie pollen.
It will produce female seed but they might be more prone to hermie under stress.
Don't call that a fact though, Jus' parroting what I've read.

Going back to lurk mode now.

Aloha Weezard,
Thank you for all. Specially for these red flowers :1baa: They're beautiful.

I'll try to be careful. I just want to do this feminize thing first time. From 6+ to 9+ also cross this 6+ with 7. She looks like mostly sativa strain with her very beautiful thin long leaves. Criticals %50 mixed strains (bigbud x skunk). I'm hoping to come up with one Critical7 strain :) and some more seeds for critical+ if i like to taste/effects of smoke and decide to grow later. I'd prefer more meditative high.

And for the stress, also thought it can be light and LST combo. MAybe that one picture from 9+ also a male nanner. I'm going to investigate more :)

I pulled out the pollen sacs and left only one of them on 6+. There were 15-20 sacs i pulled. Cleaning them out was a harder job then I thought. Big plant, too many buds, too many new grows... Just two hours ago I found some, took picture. After a while I went back there and I was trying to find them back for an hour. Well, it wasn't too bad for sure, I found many others during the search.
And one more bad news is:
I just found 2 on the 9+ too. One is the picture i sent previously that was a male flower. Falled of today when I'm trying to make picture and bananas inside.
So this made things risky. Pollinating one hermie to another? What will be results like? Now only chance is trying to create a critical7. Just for test, during the summer on balcony can be a good idea for that. We'll see about that.

Good news:
They started smelling some aroma. I still have the smell on my nose/brain. And they made me sick. My nose running. I don't know if this one is good at all :)

"This mean, in daytime when I enter the room those leaves getting light for less than a minute. Light is only coming from outside, from the open door, not strong. I do it couple of times in a day. Can this be the reason?"

Quite likely! It only takes 0.5 lux for a fist-full of seconds to light stress cannabis,
Lightning seem to be too short a duration and the full moon is just under .5 lux.
But repeated daylight through a doorway will make them go nuts.

If you have pollen allergies and you can't catch your nose, I'd say there are many seeds in your near future.:D

I purposely pollinated a little red-headed girl.

Well, not personally, I used pollen from a "super-dad" with a blue tinge.:D

Yes, after 9+ I'm sure it was about the light. Because 9+ had only two flowers on a branch where she saw the light. 6+ had more because she got more light than anyone else. 7 is totally clear, she was in dark all the way. I'm just hoping they don't go worse after this. They're just paying back the stress to me :)

I'm going to use mask for next time cleaning :) I don't want a seed farm here.

And for breeding, I read there is a risk pollens from a "feminized". As you said, legend or garbage. But I still couldn't find a clear info about breeding two hermies on each others (Maybe I start a thread about this). I'm planning to pollinate only the parts of 9+ which are not effected by the light leak. And will hope for the best.

By the way, your seeds... Like colored seeds but in natural way

Now, the other things.
Yesterday I also feed hermiticals with half dosage of nutes. Applied a little grow nutrients too (NPK 4-6-8) because some lower leafs just dropping with very light green color. I thought this can be N deficiency. Bloom solution nearly don't have N in it. NPK is 1,5-13-14 for it.
Nute water PPM was around 1000. Runoff PH 6,5.

Problem again about erecting leaves. I found them touching the bulbs again and tips burned. I don't know how to deal with this. I wired back those light burn protecting wires again, helped but not %100. Maybe I should tie those leaves down so they don't erect? Can this harm the plants in anyway?

Cheers up! Trichomes developing like crazy. Spreading all over the leaves. 7 also started having them.
8 and 14 also having bit by bit. But I really don't like 8s status. Looking very weak, thin.
Pictures coming today.

5th week of flowering started yesterday. Based on label information for criticals, two-three weeks (Includes this one) left to harvest (45-50 days total)
I Feed criticals today with Greenlabel Bio Booster recommended dosage (1 ml per liter) + Plagron Grow half dosage (2ml per liter). I finished Plagron bloom already and Greenlabel Bio Booster is not strong enough. All in total PPM was around 800. This will be the last but one feeding probably.

All floros are 7600K now. I set side CFLs on another timer, they're on 2.5 hours later and off 2.5 hours earlier than tubes.

No more balls around for now but buds. The one I left still didn't open. Looks like pollens will be saved for summer.

bud from 9+, 6+, all, I tried to get some close up on trichomes this is the closest up I could get clearly.

8 no longer in the journey. I found pollen sacks on her (it) and removed from the room immediately. Two bananas were already free I don't know how effective they were. I hope they stuck on her only. After removal I found more on her, they were just getting ready to pollinate.

Seed was probably from my previous late hermie bagseeds. All the bagseeds in second part (5,7 and 8) were my desktop seeds. They were from previous grow and just three. I kept them around my desktop, with this grow I remembered and planted but I didn't know from which plant I took them. Now things are much clear. 8 was from this plant, I've found several seeds on her after harvest.
[attachment=o264299]

Now I'm thinking 7 can be from this plant which is showed only a couple of bananas in very late flowering.
[attachment=o264300]
I might found some seeds on her as well. Just don't remember. May be pollinated by the other one. I'll be watching 7 much closer from now on.

So, I think (I believe) 8 had hermie genes with her by default. Just was waiting for a trigger. And probably she was effected from light leak too + she had all the troubles after replacing. And she responded. I was already thinking on 8 and looking everyday for possible male flowers to take her away and give a space for 14 (Now 14 alone under the table, well, I must say she's not complaining at all) Only thing worries me is, I couldn't see the flowers since today. That's a bit scary for me because if I didn't see on such a small and easy plant like 8, how will I manage to control 6 and 9?

Today was a feeding day for all.
I recently brought a new bottle of alga bloom because booster I'm using has not enough EC with it and recommended to use with bloom nutrients.
I realized there was something wrong with my 1 year old bottle, had 8.4 pH in the mix. With the new bottle was 6.5 pH. I tried to understand, when I raised the dosage it lowered the pH. So, in the end I gave 1000ppm aprox. 5 liters for each 6 and 9. 500ppm 3.5L to 7, 500ppm 2.5L to 14. All runoff was 6.1-6.2 pH
When the lights are on I'll take same soil samples and see if the soil still have low pH or what.

7 has nuteburns on tips, 6 and 9 is showing signs for future nuteburns. Since I'm close to harvest I didn't want to give only water for possible last feeding. Maybe there can be one more feeding with half dosage or I can start giving only water. Not sure yet, time will tell I hope.

This is the hardest part for me. I usually screw up things in last weeks. I hope this will be the first success for me.

Pictures coming soon. :hippy:

I didn't specially do for last weeks, I was going to use them all for flowering but my order was late for three weeks so I just could make it near the end. I'm not sure how much they're effective at the moment but they must be more effective than 2700k I believe.
Here spectrum graphics for 076 and 2700. 076 hits on 660nm and also gives good amount of blue at 440nm. Fitting very well for flowering.

Also, there are some articles I read, it wasn't about cannabis, but, it is very helpful source for lighting.

Feed: I feed them again. 6 and 9 drunk 4 liters each. 7 and 14 drunk 1 liter (That was the food left, so I gave to them.)
850 PPM, 6.2 pH. Runoff around 6. Previously it was same, next day I got soil sample and check, it was around 6.3-6.5 pH. Tomorrow I'll check again and see if its still buffering. Anyway, since the last weeks started I'll not give any more food after now and ingoing pH will be 7 again. Maybe one more time, if they wants to go on a couple of week more. :whalephant:

Air: Humidity lowest 45 and 70 highest. Highest point is only shown after watering one or two days. Otherwise it is around 60. Mostly when I'm checking time to time I see 50-55. Those values are from the memory of hygrometer.
Temperature 23 in shade and 26-27 canopy.

Criticals: 6 has bigger buds but less trichomes. Only edges of the leaves are with trichomes. I don't know why that happened. I thought its about heat. She is in the center and there is not much air as on 9. I also thought maybe removing her nanners and couple of burned leafs might put her in to stress some how. 9 has smaller but fully frost buds. I checked trichomes, they looked mature now but still clear. Lowest branches are light green but trichomes everywhere. They're smelling very nice. :1baa:

Nanners: Yesterday I lost the nanner the one I've been keeping. It was ten days already and didn't open. I just wanted to check and touch it very softly and it fall. But today, I found two more just next to the other one but they also fall :) I gave up this pollinating thing for now. If I see any more nanners I'll just cut them off (No, I don't have to cut. When I touch they're falling anyway).

se7en: She looks pretty good in corner. Currently using 15-20% of the cabinet. Very economic. Even that not stopping her to get frostier. I have good feelings about her

The other: Poor 14. Couldn't get a nice environment. Her head was burning. Already touching the roof and covered with 4 bulbs around. I can understand. So, I topped her. I'm hoping to slow down her and when there is place in the cabinet, I can continue with her.:weedpoke:

Here I moved them 5 weeks ago:
http://boards.cannabis.com/2170941-post44.html

They're flowering lightly. They didn't stretch scary. They're just fine as you can see. Winter sun, only 5 days or a little more maybe they got sun. Other days were all cloudy.
Only one accident happened three days ago and 13 main stem broken badly. I fixed back straight but I'm not sure if it helps. She still have problems. Upper leaves are very droppy in daytime. Somehow they're raising at night. See if she can heal.
Now they're waiting for a space from the cabinet. Once they get it, they'll move there. This will change their light cycle, so they'll get 20 hours of dark.

Order: All (17,2,13), 2, 13, 17, Worms? and a mushroom.

I took some more pictures from windowsill plants. You see they're having trichomes little by little. Pay attention to leaves of 13 (second pic). They're up again in a cloudy weather. I'll keep watching if they drop when there's sun.

I noticed some leaf curls on 6s head. That is 2 cm to the lights and in the middle. I attached thermometers clip there and saw 34C degree. So, I added a pc fan and it dropped highest value to 29C degree. This was a late move but better than nothing I think.

Here are the shots. You know the order already.

Edit: Yes, afternoon there was sun and 13 dropped top leaves down again.

Looking mighty tasty.
Thanks tikiroom. They look like and they were smelling much stronger every other day in this last week until I got flu. Since then I can't smell and taste anything. Its like I have a carbon filter on me.:wtf:
I got a sample from the middle to see if this is the level what I've been looking for and if they are really tasty as they look but I can't try until I get my full potent back. Today I feel better. I could smell them a little when I stick my noose to flowers :D

Final weeks news:
I stopped feeding them and gave only snow water two days ago. Maybe one more watering after this one.
I also tied a rope around 6, because branches were bending down to the sides. They must be loaded
I gave all 6500K to 14. Lets see if it makes any good.

Here are some more pictures on day 45.

I've been looking for a way to answer your rep since I spent mine before, you were right on time my friend. I was just reading that and replied there while you were here :) I'll try to put my hands in it. ;)

Yesterday I gave snow water again to all (6,7,9,14). Leaves are still dark green, no deficiency yet.
Changed side lighting to 6500k

I saw some cloudy and some amber trichomes. Rest looks clear.

Yesterday I gave water again, this time tap water only. I feel I did it wrong, I should give tap water first then snow. Maybe after this watering one more water I can give (Every time I say the same huh). They're still growing buds, feels like one more week they go...
I didn't go this far before with success so I need some feedback here:
Heads are almost ready, they have plenty amount of amber trichs on them but I think that is characteristics (amber only leaf surface), rest looks still clear. Maybe they're cloudy and I don't know the difference between clear and cloudy. When the lights on I'll upload heads macro pictures to give a better view. I tested the sample 1/5 g (took 5 days ago or so), I still have smell and taste problems from flu, but tasted good even with my limited senses. Lasted long enough with clear energetic high. Not for sleeping definitely.
So, I'm planning to cut the heads in a couple of days and leave the rest lower sites for one or two more weeks. By doing this, I'm planning to have some clear/cloudy - cloudy first crop, then some cloudy/amber - amber second crop for sleeping buds :)
Please let me know your thoughts on this.

Here are some pictures, as you see, second layer on buds are forming/formed (I think that is the big bud thing) Half by half white and orange/brown pistils.

Wow man they are beautiful!! sheesh i hope mine turn out like that!! hmm to my untrained eye the first three pics all look like clear trichs, fourth pic is mostly milky, fifth pic mostly amber. how'd you take those pics? I'm gonna have to figure out how to judge ripeness too, i'm thinkin sorta the same as you - harvest in stages to get the different effects.. what an exciting ride! Good work tevfik.
