I got a call about an informant...

Just what the title says here boys n girls :(

I know I know I know the routine, the more peeps that know the more likely you are to get busted, right?

So besides all the wonderful peeps here only three other people knew about my grow. My wife, a friend of 16 years, and another grower.

The call:
A friend of mine, whom I haven't spoke to in almost a year, called me today. He also happens to be... uhhh... lets say he works with law enforcement but he himself is not a cop by any means. Outta the blue the phone rings and it went a little like this: Him: "Hey bro, we'll hafta catch up some other time, this is a business call...", Me: "Uhhh... ok, whats up?", Him: "No names, no details and this call never happened, ok?", "Sure, ok???", "Your safe for a bit but somebody snitched on you", "FOR WHAT?!?", "Just shut-up and get rid of everything NOW!!!"... then he hung up.

So running like my head was on fire and my ass was catchin' any and everything that might raise questions disappeared from my property.

OHHHHH! IM PISSED!!!

I damn sure know my wife didn't say anything to anyone, she has just as much to gain/lose here as I. I doubt it was my friend of 16 years, him and I have actually been sittin in jail together several times refusing to flip on the other, sometimes we got lucky and were released, sometimes not.

BUT!!! The damn other grower I know... well funny thing, he vanished off the face of the planet about ten days ago. It's been rumored that his plants went with him but all of the sudden he's back on the block (not literally my block) acting like he doesn't have a care in the world and refuses to tell peeps anything other that "I just needed a break from stress for a while and left." He wont talk shop w/ anyone now either from what I've heard, and he hasn't called me in almost two weeks now, which is odd cause we usually spoke via phone or face to face 3-5 times a week. I've know this guy for bout 4 years now and thought I could trust him :wtf:

Now I know that a lot of peeps here are completely legal to do as they want concerning cultivation of whatever they wanna cultivate but there is also a lot of peeps here who have to stay underground, so to speak.

Let this be a warning, DON'T TRUST ANYONE!!! if you are a member of the underground!

So... now I gotta stay cool for a while. It may not lead to anything and this quite possibly could just be a very poor attempt at a practical joke but I sure as hell don't see any humor in it. Well...... It would be pretty funny if someone did show up with a magic paper to flip my house and walked away empty handed :D

EDIT: BTW, the other grower doesnt even know where I live other than the city. Also, not a single account here is under my name either :D

If they don't have enough for a full warrant they will come for what they call a Knock and talk.

This is where they come to the door to talk and one of the smartasses says I smell something and their you go a full blown search with probbably cause and no warrant needed.

If someone turned on you this would be a very sad story. This looks to me as if some one wanted to just put you out.

The only way to know for sure is the one who called. Sometimes they think they are doing you a solid but you don't know where they got their info.

Ya, I'm pretty familiar with the knock and talk. I've had my far share of run-ins with the long arm of the law and have made the mistake of opening the door before, not for cannabis but they had other reasons to nose around.

If they do show up for a knock and talk I'm not even gonna open the door. Gonna take a tip outta a vid and just yell through the window by the front door tell em that I dont open the door for the police, to have dispatch call me if they wanna talk or we can keep yelling through the window and tell them if they have a warrant they can kick the door in.

Other than that I'm just gonna wait and see what happens. After a week or so I'll call the bud that warned me and see what he has to say.

I had a couple of police officers knock on my door once and ask if this was a certain address, it wasn't. I was growing at the time and was smoking a big fat one when they knocked. :eek: thank god for attic fans. :jointsmile:

Hi there i'm new to this site and this is only my second post but over here in the UK they also take your computer and go though all your internet history to build a case against you.

I hope you get back to normal soon. Have you had any more info from your 'friend'?

Good point, Hugo. That is why everyone should be using some sort of "InPrivate" browsing feature like the type found on IE when they are role playing this growing game ... that way it won't keep any history of your travels.

As for you Slevinkal, go over to the snitches house and give them a good kick in the keister :asskick: or if you like revenge there is a way to get the idiot back for flapping his gums to the the wrong people, although you don't strike me as the vengeful-type. :rambo:

thats a bad idea. You want to know the best way to talk with the police and not allow them in? When they knock on the door you open it and step outside with them locking the door behind you. Now they can talk all the want, but they know they would need a search warrant to get into the house(unless you invite them in that is). This is what I used to do when we threw underage parties. There is a video somewhere out there that goes over the etiquette when you are talking with cops either at home or in your car.
