a $40mill hit.

For those of you who don't know who these creeps are a short explanation. They are a corporation that owns American Intercontinental, Briarcliff, Brooks, Brown, California Culinary Academy, CEFIRE Paris, Collins College, Colorado Technical University, Ecole de Commerce, Gibbs College, Harrington School of Design, INSEEC, International Academy of Design and Technology, International University of Monaco, Istituto Marangoni, Le Cordon Bleu, MBA Institute Paris, Missouri College, Sanford Brown College, SBI Campus, and Sup Santé.

So, I'm sure no matter where you live you have seen one of these "Institutes of Higher Learning" advertise. The deal with them is, they are all a scam, some of the schools were once prestigious before being bought out by this corporation, but have now all become "College Degrees for Sale" businesses. Many of the schools you see advertised on TV that I didn't list are nearly as bad as these guys, but CEC is by far the worse offenders. Useless "Educations, useless College Credits, Fraudulent loans, and so much more.

My condolences to anyone who is currently enrolled in one of these schools, and for any of you considering one of these schools, may I humbly suggest an actual University?

Been hearing bits and pieces about these guys for years, many people have tried to go after them, but as per the way things go when ordinary people try to take on these mega Corporations, they get buried in teams of Lawyers and unlimited legal funding. Well seems Students in Cali have dealt these bastards a blow Good job cali!

Found one of the things that originally brought my attention to CEC, turned out it was 60 Minutes.. For-Profit College: Costly Lesson - 60 Minutes - CBS News (http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/01/31/60minutes/main670479.shtml)

Other Article was about one of their local schools, the woman that was head of the school resigned because she didn't like being forced to falsefy student records..

beware of promises of a better life that come during Jerry Springer commercial breaks.. :D
