Newb question

Sorry if this has been addressed before I looked briefly but came up empty handed. Anyways i was doing some youtube research and came across some guy building a grow room and put a fridge in it for some reason? Would it clean the air of the smell, release co2, or what? When I came across it I didn't pay any attention to it but know i have come across a perfectly unused fridge that is just conveniently sitting in my buddies grow room. Any thoughts?

The only use I can see is perhaps as a veg / mother room in place of a purpose built tent. Pretty good idea actually. You'd need to figure out how to get air flow going but that should not be too difficult.

it just seems too me they were talking about carbon filters and were building a room and instead using a carbon filter.
