This should be right down IB's alley. But, its a place I have fond memories of. especially where they want to relocate the airbase. It was our northern jungle training area and the surrounding countryside was either jungle or pineapple fields. And the market in Naha on weekends was a place to go just to people watch and take in the culture.
Matter of fact, some of the best weed I ever smoked, I smoked in Okinawa.

I found the hatred between the mainland Japanese and the people of Okinawa very strange. My roomate at Kemper Military School was from Tokyo...down the hall was a kid named Keiji who was from Okinawa(both hardly spoke english). They were the ONLY Japanese kids at this school and they TRULY hated one another.....when their parents flew in for the End of Year Parade......they spat at one another. Crazy..... but whatever.
Man Gyps....weren't you just so offended by the open racism against anyone not Japanese by the Japanese? Kinda like Europeans who still make monkey sounds at black football players? Those are some advanced societies huh.:stoned:
Atleast when Clinton talked about the "European Model" he meant the models literally....:pimp:

I lived off-base near Camp Kue. Living among the Okinawans is one of my fondest memories....especially,..
during Obon (full moon in August)...they know how to party...:rasta:
The U.S. should have made it territory like Guam, etc....instead of turning it back over.
400 years of slave domination by the Japs is enough.
