Hello, I am looking to start growing my 6 plants. This will be my first time growing, I have no equipment, and I was wondering if someone could recommend a reputable grow store to procure a basic setup. Or is my best bet going to craigslist? Thanks in advance for your help.

Google search for Hydroponics and Gardening stores in your area.
Everything you need for a decent harvest can be bought at hydro shops and a hardware store.

I see that thread, and it's a great deal. Do you have multiples? I will be in the market for that exact package times 2 or 3 in a month or so.
To the OP, jump on that deal while it lasts.

Actually, IMO, canaguy's listing is pretty sweet. It kinda makes me wish I lived in that locale.

check your nearest store or shop around. they are all pretty good. its just a matter of convenience and price. just dont walk in with this im all legal attitude cause youll be escorted to the door, just as any dumbass who thinks s/hes legal should. be courteous to your purveyor and ask basic questions. they will know. 20 stores didnt open up because of chives and chiles.

If I had it to do over again I would save a lot of time and money by avoiding automatic watering/hydroponics and just grow in dirt and hand watering. I know commercial growers who hand water so with only 6 plants it should not be a problem. I also wish that I had just gone for 1000 watts instead of the 600 that I bought.
Pay attention to temperature and ventilation. Winter is great for a first grow as you won't have to worry about it getting too hot in your grow room.
Good luck and have fun!

Not sure why the grow stores would be offended by what you call the I'm all legal attitude - because guess what - we are all legal now. It is a relief not to have to talk in code about tomatoes and peppers any more.

Your arrogance will not get you any good info.
Since most suppliers of hydro shops are NATIONAL companies, that means they can only sell products legal at the federal level. Companies constantly have to defend themselves in court arguing that they don't sell products intended for illegal use. Secret shoppers asking for pot advice etc. No hydro shop should risk losing those products. Let's play by the rules and keep our mouths shut.
As a result, national distributors are being forced to ensure there is no discussions referring to federally illegal products.
Just refer to them as growing tomatoes, and you'll be fine. Mention 'medical' or 'marijuana' and expect to be shown the door, because being arrogant about being 'legal' is not a positive quality. Whatever money you think you'll spend isn't worth losing a vendor contract, so as a patient, get over yourself. Educate yourself.

If it makes you feel better to resort to name calling - go ahead. Let's see I am arrogant and uneducated, right? AND YOU EVEN RESORTED TO ALL CAPS to make your point!! You are probably not aware of how rude your post is, are you? Guess I am not the only one who needs an EDUCATION.

well try saying your "legal" in federal court and youll hear this word...inadmissable. followed by your lengthy sentencing. real legal, huh. its also considered poor etiquette to discuss such matters in their stores. remember, they are not licensed for any cannabis activities as such would be criminal. ive seen "no marijuana" signs at their entrances. also it would behoove you to refrain from discussing mmj because they may not be as friendly as you might think. further being somewhat legal does not preclude one from all the hassles of being suspect and proving your innocence.
